Template:Semi-retired

If you wish to change the colour of a widely used template, please propose it first on the talk page, and explain why. You gave no such reasoning in your edit summary. As it is a widely used template, users (such as myself) may not appreciate you changing it without any explanation. If you wish to reply, please do so here. Thank you. Ss112 00:08, 21 November 2020 (UTC)

The same goes for other templates: You should not just change their colours to what you prefer because you wish to use them on your profile. Ss112 00:21, 21 November 2020 (UTC)

Stub-tagging

Hello, please do not tag articles as stubs that are more than a couple of paragraphs long, as you did at Alexander, Arkansas. In fact, in general stub-tagging like this is not very useful anyway ... I think you'd be better off doing something else. Graham87 05:59, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

Stub tagging

Please note that according to WP:TAGSTUB, you should always use the most specific stub tag that applies. For example, if an article is on a type of bat the appropriate tag is {{stub-bat}} and the tag {{stub-mammal}} should not be used, as all bats are also mammals. Thank you. Anaxial (talk) 18:19, 2 February 2021 (UTC)

Please don't add a more general stub to an article which already has a specific one - there's no need to add {{bird-stub}} to an article which already has {{Paridae-stub}} such as Chickadee. Thanks. PamD 19:34, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, you're right. I'm sorry that I did that. I'll no longer add stub templates to articles that have a stub tag that's fine by theirselves. Treekangaroosandlions 2 (talk) 17:23, 28 February 2021 (UTC)

The sandbox

Hi, Treekangaroosandlions 2. I noticed your removals in the sandbox and took a look. I don't think there's a problem of promotion, as GLV isn't a commercial product — it just means "green leafy vegetables". But I'll put the user's page on my watchlist, just in case. Thanks for your vigilance! Bishonen | tålk 22:34, 2 March 2021 (UTC).

Also, the Wikipedia Sandbox is self-clearing, so no need for you to pull that oar. David notMD (talk) 09:28, 7 March 2021 (UTC)

@David notMD: Okay, sorry. Treekangaroosandlions 2 (talk) 16:31, 7 March 2021 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for May 5

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Lorenzo de Paolis, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Conductor. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:02, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

Block notices

Please don't apply block notices to user talk pages, especially to accounts with abusive usernames, as you did here. In many cases, the admin chose not to apply the notice (per WP:DENY or to not draw attention to offensive usernames). aeschylus (talk) 22:26, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

@Aeschylus: Darn it. Thanks for notifying me. I sometimes tend to display newcomer-ish behaviour. Sorry about that. treekangaroos (talk) 22:42, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

Need help with substituting a template

Hello, there. I am a wikipedian mostly focused on editing tennis articles. I have been having trouble changing a template using source editing. It is about the currently hapenning French Open tennis tournament. On its 2021 article page, in the infobox there are lists of all the draws there: singles, doubles, seniors, juniors and then there is the wheelchair discipline, as it is formally known in the tennis community. I have been having trouble changing the order of the draws of singles, doubles and quads for men's and women's sections in that order. I have opened up a discussion on the talk pages of the tennis wikiproject but no response. My problem is I tried changing the order of the draws so it follows by categories, yet the change does not take effect after I publish my edit. Here is a link to the aforementioned talk page. Do you have any idea why that happens and how you suggest I do that? Feel free to ping me either here or answer on my talk page, either way is fine. Best, Qwerty284651 (talk) 11:57, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

@Qwerty284651: Sorry, but I'm not really interested in sports articles. I only really stub tag them. Maybe you could ask this at the Teahouse? Another editor could help you there. treekangaroos (talk) 14:52, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

How do you do stub tags

Hey, it's I again. I was wondering, since you do tags, you could help me this. Does one need special privileges/rights to tag pages, that they themselves have created or do I leave that to the page curators, I think that's what they're called, to sort it out? Qwerty284651 (talk) 12:13, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

@Qwerty284651: You can read WP:STUB if you're confused. treekangaroos (talk) 14:15, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

Thanks. Will look into it. Qwerty284651 (talk) 15:42, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

@Qwerty284651: No problem. treekangaroos (talk) 15:44, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

Please do not "enforce" the MOS in project space

The very first sentence of the MOS itself is very clear: "This Manual of Style (MoS or MOS) is the style manual for all English Wikipedia articles (though provisions related to accessibility apply across the entire project, not just to articles)." It also has a hidden comment embedded in it that says "Changing "articles" to "pages" (or any change broadening MOS's scope of applicability) would require a widely advertised RfC. " So I think this is pretty clear, and the changes I have seen you making do not seem to be related to accessibility. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:09, 11 June 2021 (UTC)

@Beeblebrox: Oh. I feel stupid now. Thanks for notifying me. treekangaroos (talk) 18:13, 11 June 2021 (UTC)

@Treekangaroosandlions2 :-) Thank you, take care! (p.s. I looked up "tree kangaroos" -- wow cool animals!) :O Also, how do I write your username so that it hyperlinks, the way you write mine? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Follow.your.inner.heroes.2.the.work.you.love.2021 (talkcontribs) 00:53, 27 June 2021 (UTC)

@Treekangaroosandlions 2: Have a cool week... I think you'd enjoy rock balancing if you try it. Take care!   Peace out, Follow.your.inner.heroes.2.the.work.you.love.2021 (talk) 02:10, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

@Follow.your.inner.heroes.2.the.work.you.love.2021: I'm not into meditating that much, but I might try it! Thanks for the request! treekangaroos (talk) 14:24, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

@Treekangaroosandlions 2: The meditation part can be to simply breathe calmly, focus, and be at peace with yourself and what you're doing. You can rock-balance just for fun, to let go of the stress of your studies. Plus it can improve concentration skills for studying. :D Do you have any little rocks where you live? Capitalizing templates

Please do not capitalize templates. Whether or not templates are capitalized is just a personal preference. If you think otherwise, you need to find where capitalization is required in MOS as a policy. Secondly, such edits are ineffective, since they make no difference whatsoever to how the templates or the article renders. Thirdly, edits like these can be mildly offensive to the users who wrote the articles. If you write articles yourself, then you will readily understand why it can be aggregating when another user, who contributes nothing at all to the article, overrides your personal preferences and replaces them with their own. — Epipelagic (talk) 06:14, 6 July 2021 (UTC)

@Epipelagic: I'm confused. How is it "offensive" to the editors that wrote it? Anyways, I apologize. I was trying to help and clean up articles. treekangaroos (talk) 14:17, 6 July 2021 (UTC)

Merger discussion for Drug possession

An article that you have been involved in editing—Drug possession—has been proposed for merging with another article. If you are interested, please participate in the merger discussion. Thank you. Stubs

A stub is generally considered to be an article with a prose size of less than 1500B, you are adding stub tags to articles which are larger than 1500B. Articles smaller than that are not necessarily stubs either. The stub tag should only be added to pages which have been classed as a Stub on their talk page.Quetzal1964 (talk) 17:08, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

@Quetzal1964: Darn it. Thanks for notifying me. treekangaroos (talk to me) 20:51, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
