Regarding File:Matt Tifft Photo 2014.jpeg edit

Hi, I noticed that you posted at Media copyright questions about this file. As Nthep has told you, Matt's dad needs to give permission for the photo to be used. If permission is not granted, I'm afraid that the photo will be deleted.

If you can, you should contact him and ask for permission through e-mail. You can use the sample message here. Keep in mind that Wikipedia needs permission not just for us to use, but for other people to use as well; this is explained in the message. After that, forward the message to permissions-commons wikimedia.org and we will take care of the rest.

User:Anon126 I've done what you said, but the photo was still deleted. I can re-upload the file. Did you not get the email I forwarded from Matt's Dad?

Hi, sorry for the delay. I've reuploaded the picture on Wikimedia Commons, our "sister site" for free photos. You can use it just as if it were uploaded to Wikipedia. I see that you've reuploaded a cropped version; that's all right. Anon126 (notify me of responses! / talk / contribs) 05:38, 11 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I guess I'm still a bit confused on Copyright. This photo (while being used on his Facebook and website) was taken by me. I am his cousin. I don't care how it's used. Since I'm the owner of the photo - it is okay to be used here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.189.242.194 (talk) 14:58, 4 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:2016 tifft.JPG edit

A tag has been placed on File:2016 tifft.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I guess I STILL don't know what to do to in order to post pictures. Just TELL ME WHAT TO DO SO I CAN. JGR allows for their media to be shared on the web. I gave them credit and said where it came from. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.241.230.226 (talk) 17:27, 15 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
