There's no consensus for removing the plot summary. If you don't want to read it, don't read the article. The book has already been released in the UK and the Eastern United States.--Chaser - T 04:20, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I agree, but wikipedia has a policy on posting spoilers of recent movies and books, doesn't that apply here. I know the book has been released, I have it, but what about copyright infringement.Cave Johnson 04:26, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia has a policy on posting spoilers of recent movies and books. Which policy are you referencing? WP:SPOILER is about spoiler warnings. Plot summaries don't violate copyright. Posting lots of text verbatim violates copyright. Shorts quotes are fair use. I hope that clarifies. You can post further replies here.--Chaser - T 04:31, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
With regards to the consensus, I think it makes more sense to leave out the spoiler until a consensus is reached to post it. At least put the spoiler warning back.Cave Johnson 04:34, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I don't care about the spoiler warning (though other editors on the page are reverting it back and forth). The inclusion of the plot has a strong talk page consensus. The idea was always to post the plot upon release of the books.--Chaser - T 04:36, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Somehow it just doesnt feel right to have a spoiler that detailed and long a few hours after the book release.Cave Johnson 04:41, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I suspect many people read the copy leaked onto the internet. That was kept off the article the last few days as unverifiable, but now anyone can buy the book and check the plot summary for accuracy. A lot of that is happening in these first few hours after release. As to it not feeling right, there's nothing I can do for you there.--Chaser - T 04:45, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Quint2.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Quint2.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 10:00, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Quint1.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Quint1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:53, 26 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Vaastav the reality.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Vaastav the reality.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 05:12, 4 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

The sources on the article all indicate that the current spelling is correct. However, if you are able to find sources that prove otherwise, please add them and fix it. At this point, the spelling should stay the same as there are sources supporting the current spelling. Netalarmhappy holidays! 07:06, 22 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I am a native of Maharashtra, speak Marathi, write Marathi, have done so for t he past 25 years. Having studied Maratha history in the native language I know what the name is supposed to be pronounced as. The current version is the Anglicized pronunciation of the name which the Indian historians did not bother to change. A case of the west butchering ethnic names, to allow it to continue like this is offensive to Marathi people.

I understand that you may believe the spelling is incorrect, but all sources indicate that this is the correct spelling. If you are able to find reliable sources that prove your point, please say so. We can't just go ahead and change the spelling and not have any sources to support it. Netalarmhappy holidays! 07:21, 22 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Murdeshwar edit

Respected Sir, I saw on Wikipedia Murudeshwara page that you had earlier participated in editing my hometown Murdeshwar. I request you to revisit the page and provide your expert comments about my new posting on the talk page of Murdeshwar. I am new to Wikipedia and do not know how to contact members for getting help. It is my earnest request to all experienced members of Wikipedia to help me in getting back the correct spelling of my home town. In my humble opinion, a mistake made by the first author should not be allowed to carry forward. Please take some time out of your busy schedule and help us.

You accidentally deleted pictures edit

Hi. When you change words in picture file's hard-coded FILE name, and put BCE in there, the picture is then deleted from view. Hindbærbrus (talk) 14:20, 14 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Hindbærbrus my apologies. how can I fix this? Cave Johnson (talk) 14:23, 14 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
It's alright, I fixed it. I put the pictures back. I just thought I'd mention what happened, so you don't accidentally delete pics in other articles. 👍 Hindbærbrus (talk) 14:35, 14 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
