External link edit

Please don't spam this web site. It is easy to tell you are here to promote a particular website which isn't even complete. This is an encyclopedia. Your external link doesn't belong. - Shiftchange (talk) 06:55, 7 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi Shiftchange.

I have no intention at all to promote a commercial website on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wide_Bay-Burnett. The website I would like to link to is a local government website. It will be live within a week. This is the link to the website: http://www.widebayburnett.qld.gov.au/Home.aspx. It is a project of the Wide Bay Regional Organisation of Councils (http://www.wbbroc.org.au/). This website has the logo of the http://www.widebayburnett.qld.gov.au/Home.aspx website on the top left corner and the link will be active as soon as the website is live. Because you have a link to the WBBROC I thought it would be appropriate to add the link to the new WBBROOC website about the Wide Bay Burnett Region. We are contracted to develop this website by the Regional Economic Development Advisory Committee.

More info about this website: http://southburnett.com.au/news2/2013/07/new-regional-brand-to-be-unveiled/ and http://southburnett.com.au/news2/2013/07/a-perfect-place-to-live/

Please advise me. Catalyst Directions (talk) 23:37, 7 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm responding to the Help request template you placed in this section. Websites that haven't been completed yet are of no use to us here. If it is important for that link to be in that article, and if it is not spam, come back when the website is live and try again. But know also that Wikipedia has specific guidelines about reliable sources so it is important that your contribution fit those expectations. Hope that helps. If I have made a mistake I apologize. It still looks a little too promotional rather than educational. However if you add it to a handful of articles I will not remove it. - Shiftchange (talk) 01:07, 8 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Michael J. Roads edit

Hello Catalyst Directions,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Michael J. Roads, may be copied from http://www.michaelroadsusa.com/about.asp. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 04:51, 23 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello,

Yes some of the material has been taken of the USA website. I rewrote this part and removed the quote of the Koorddanser magazine. All the Michael Roads websites have a content copyright. I am in contact with Michael and Carolyn Roads and they gave me verbally permission to use material from any of their (inter)national websites. Do you need any 'proof' in writing from them? I also have an offical photo of Michael Roads which I am not able to upload. Can you please assist me.

Kind Regards, Maarten
