Welcome edit

Hello CastleFineArt and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox (but beware that the contents of the sandbox are deleted frequently) rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a Help desk, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! April 2021 edit

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

Request reason:

Mistake Genuine error due to lack of experience. Have requested username change and content is not promotional, just factual and relevant CastleFineArt (talk) 16:34, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Your choice of new username seems to be acceptable. Please review conflict of interest and paid editing and explain how your future edits will be consistent with those policies, as well as describe any topics unrelated to your conflict of interest that you might edit about. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 07:38, 16 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Request reason:

Last user name rejected. I intend to make edits about art and artists, which are valuable subjects. The edits are intended to accurately represent these artists, and the information does not differ from other artist profiles already existing on Wikipedia. I can add a connected contributor template to make this more transparent. Again, the content is factual and not promotional

Decline reason:

Realistically, you aren't going to be unblocked to write about subject areas for which you have a conflict of interest, not initially at least. Yamla (talk) 11:42, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

I did not reject your last choice of new username, I specifically said it was acceptable. 331dot (talk) 13:26, 16 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

I would also note that Wikipedia does not have profiles, not a single one. Wikipedia has articles. Please also read other stuff exists. 331dot (talk) 13:29, 16 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ok, sorry, I misunderstood it because it said declined at the top. Articles on the artists I would like to edit about do not already exist, and they do not just refer to the art they create; they are involved in charity or high-profile projects to raise awareness of important issues like animal extinction and mental health, so they could be considered notable.

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Paul Kenton edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Paul Kenton, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.   — Jeff G. ツ 16:41, 16 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
