Speedy deletion nomination of John Amberg

edit

Hello Cassville56,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged John Amberg for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks,  —Waldhorn (talk) 04:27, 21 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Copying stuff from this book

edit

You have stated above that you are "copying stuff from this book you have in front of you". I would venture to guess that the book is a list of every player who has ever played for the New York Giants. Please remember that Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate list of information. The mere mention of a person in a list of players is not sufficient to merit inclusion in Wikipedia. (See WP:BIO for an explanation of the criteria for notability for biographies.) Also, if you must include this information (which is likely to eventually be deleted), you might consider at least providing the details of the book from which you are garnering the information as a citation for verification. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:53, 21 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

As a suggestion, rather than create an article on each individual player, why not consider gathering the information into team rosters, say a 1925 New York Giants roster article. That article, cited from the book you have, would be a useful piece of reference information. One could then gather all of those individual rosters together in to an article Rosters of the New York Giants, which would merely be a list of all of the individual articles. Now that would be a useful project. Happy editing! WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:56, 21 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Ushau97. I noticed that you recently removed some content without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! The pages which you have blanked have been tagged for deletion.
