NotAGenious Good day and thank you for interested in NPPS. Your current total edits on the main space is 388, which means you will reach 500 very soon. What I can do is to provide you with some reading material first to equip you will some guidelines needed for the first few assignments. When you reach the edits required you can pop back here and I wills up the program for you. Pls read WP:N, WP:SNG, WP:STAND, WP:RS, WP:IS, WP:RSP, WP:V, WP:PROVEIT, WP:Primary, WP:Secondary, and WP:Tertiary. Pls note the program is comprehensive and would require a lot of your time to read the material and do the assignment.     • LowercaseDescription.js is a script that adds a link to automatically lower the first letter of an item's description in the user's language.
  • Development
    • We are planning the migration of some of our existing components from the Wikit to the Codex design system in Query Builder, Mismatch Finder and the Special:NewLexeme page.
    • Warnings about not being logged-in will now have a returnto= parameter attached to their links, so that you can don’t use your flow from logging in (phab:T330550)
    • We fixed an issue with the LanguageSwitcher in Query Builder where it would open out of the viewport on some tablet screen widths (phab:T344231)
    • Wikibase REST API: We finished the work on making it possible to remove a statement from a Property (phab:T342976) and getting the labels of a Property (phab:T342977)

Recent changes

  •   MediaWiki now has a stable interface policy for frontend code that more clearly defines how we deprecate MediaWiki code and wiki-based code (e.g. gadgets and user scripts). Thank you to everyone who contributed to the content and discussions. [1][2]

Changes later this week

  •   The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 19 September. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 20 September. It will be on all wikis from 21 September (calendar).
  • All wikis will be read-only for a few minutes on September 20. This is planned at 14:00 UTC. [3]
  • All wikis will have a link in the sidebar that provides a short URL of that page, using the Wikimedia URL Shortener. [4]

    • User:Luca.favorido/linkypop.js is a script that can be used to search an identifier on an external site. For example, if you type “ORCID”, an icon with a lens will appear, and when you click it, a new tab will open with the ORCID site looking for the name of the researcher. You can then copy the URL and paste it to Wikidata.

The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.

Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.

Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! Is this version okay?

All three judges gave the fourth round to Gamrot, despite Tsarukyan knocking Gamrot down with a spinning backfist punch and landing more strikes. Had that round been scored for Tsarukyan, he would've won via unanimous decision.[1] Pill55k (talk) 13:07, 23 September 2023 (UTC)

Pill55k Good day. I saw your edit o Gamrot page and the edit (info of the text) is good with source provided. There are a few things to be noted here. 1. In MMA fighters' pages/articles in Wikipedia, we usually would provide the mmadecision by the media scoring to indicate is a fight is controversial or not (example 20 out of 22 media favour for the loser - that would be contravesial bu not 15 of 22 media) unless there are sources with significant coverage (many many independent, reliable sources) indicate the fight is controversial. 2. In Wikipedia, we edit the info as the summary from the source in simple and factual in neutral point of view ( see - WP:NPOV way as how it is report and not adding additional purffery words or reduction of the fact such as opinion, deduction or addition of the opinion or facts, adding adjective and adverb words such as "just, very, extremely, praise, put down, etc.) for this will directedly or indirectly effective the emotional stage of the readers ( see WP:PUFF. 3. Pay-by-pay can be added to the body if the info is extremely important and remember the texts have to adhere strictly to NPOV and general speaking, only less than 0.01% of pay-by-pay is added to mma fighters.   •   The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 26 September. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 27 September. It will be on all wikis from 28 September (calendar).
  •   The ResourceLoader mediawiki.ui modules are now deprecated as part of the move to Vue.js and Codex. There is a guide for migrating from MediaWiki UI to Codex for any tools that use it. More details are available in the task and your questions are welcome there.
  • Gadget definitions will have a new "namespaces" option. The option takes a list of namespace IDs. Gadgets that use this option will only load on pages in the given namespaces.

Future changes

  • New variables will be added to AbuseFilter: global_account_groups and global_account_editcount. They are available only when an account is being created. You can use them to prevent blocking automatic creation of accounts when users with many edits elsewhere visit your wiki for the first time. [6][7]

  • There is a new user preference for "Always enable safe mode". This setting will make pages load without including any on-wiki JavaScript or on-wiki stylesheet pages. It can be useful for debugging broken JavaScript gadgets. [8]
  •   Gadget definitions now have a new "contentModels" option. The option takes a list of page content models, like wikitext or css. Gadgets that use this option will only load on pages with the given content models.

  • Starting on Wednesday, a new set of Wikipedias will get "Add a link" (Swahili Wikipedia, Walloon Wikipedia, Waray Wikipedia, Wolof Wikipedia, Kalmyk Wikipedia, Xhosa Wikipedia, Mingrelian Wikipedia, Yiddish Wikipedia, Yoruba Wikipedia, Zhuang Wikipedia, Zeelandic Wikipedia, Min Nan Wikipedia, Zulu Wikipedia). This is part of the progressive deployment of this tool to more Wikipedias. The communities can configure how this feature works locally. [11]
  • At some wikis, newcomers are suggested images from Commons to add to articles without any images. Starting on Tuesday, newcomers at these wikis will be able to add images to unillustrated article sections. The specific wikis are listed under "Images recommendations" at the Growth team deployment table. You can learn more about this feature. [12]
  •   In the mobile web skin (Minerva) the CSS ID #page-actions will be replaced with #p-views. This change is to make it consistent with other skins and to improve support for gadgets and extensions in the mobile skin. A few gadgets may need to be updated; there are details and search-links in the task.

Wikidata Working Hours provide hands-on Wikidata experience in a supportive space.
