{{helpme}}

I just posted content on Wikipedia which was removed because it is similar to content elsewhere.

That is correct .. I authored the trythreelakes page and would like to use that same text to update our Wikipedia entry.

How to I go about 'squaring' things. We are fine with making this publically available. I'm just not sure how to go about it.

Thanks.

I'll answer in two parts:
  1. First, thanks for being willing to donate the material, we really appreciate it. However, you need to realize that by releasing it you give the entire world rights to edit, change, use, take, copy, paste, etc. your work with no input from you. Also, after you donate the material, and if/when it's posted, you cannot at any time request deletion on the grounds of you own it, because you will not own it. If you still want to give us the material, go to WP:Donating copyrighted materials and follow the instructions there.
  2. Second, make sure that the material you donate is in an encyclopedic tone. If it's not, regardless of donation, it may not be posted, or if posted will be heavily edited.
Thanks again for wishing to donate your materials! gwickwiretalkedits 02:59, 16 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
