rescues and info links.

edit

Hi, thanks for your edits to the English Setter article - I did remove some of the external links that you added. Really, you there should not be links to rescues on dog article pages. As noble as rescues are (I am a foster for one), there are many reasons not to do this, first and foremost wikipedia is not a web directory, being an encyclopedia it's not the place to find out where to get a dog, it's not a soapbox either so we can't promote rescues over breeders - and due to neutrality policies, if we did allow rescue sites, we'd have to allow every back yard breeder and pet store as well. Advertising is advertising, even if it is for a not-for-profit. So I'm going to remove these (in addition to ones already there). Don't let this discourage you from editing though, check out the policies on external linking and Verifiability to get an idea of what should and shoud not be there. - Trysha (talk) 20:00, 14 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've removed these links again, for the reasons stated above. Please do not continue to add them back. Thank you. - Trysha (talk) 16:33, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
