Writing edit

  • When it comes to writing, although I love it, sometimes I have periods at a time where I have writer's block. Currently, I have had writer's block since before Thanksgiving, and there's no end in sight.
  • As it is apparently with most Capricorns, I am a die-hard perfectionist. I take much longer to write because I am always rewording something. Surprisingly enough, I haven't rewritten any part of this talk page...Yet.
  • I hate showing my work to people. Since I was made fun of a lot for writing a lot in my elementary and middle school days, I get very uncomfortable when I have to show work to people. If I ever show you something I have written, you must be very special. Yet, I want to submit something someday for Valparaiso University's literary magazine so I can become more comfortable with that issue.Carlynewton (talk) 17:33, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Assignment for Feb. 11th: Sailor Venus Article Edit edit

Hello, for those who don't know much about me, my guilty pleasure is Sailor Moon. My favorite character on that show is no one other than the beautiful Sailor Venus, also known as Minako Aino, or Mina in the older dubs, such as DiC and Cloverway that were released back in the early 2000s.

The initial form of Sailor Venus' article was created on November 4, 2002. Unlike the most recent edit of the article, Sailor Venus' article is barren and lacks much of the information that currently floods her page. The original user who created the article was known as 67.1.72.233. They created this article thirteen years ago, and they themselves do not have a talk page. However, over five hundred edits and thirteen years later, the article is as it is today. The sources used for this article are either the Sailor Moon manga and its two animes, the Codename: Sailor V manga, and interviews with Naoko Takeuchi, the creator of Sailor Moon. While it goes through lengths to portray Minako, there are other points that the article doesn't come onto, strictly about Minako herself. As a civilian, Minako Aino gets poor grades just like Usagi Tsukino, the protagonist of Sailor Moon. We also don't see the additions and changes of her personality in comparison in between the two anime, Sailor Moon (anime) and Sailor Moon Crystal, to the Sailor Moon manga, to the Sailor Moon musicals, and finally the live-action Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. Any long-time Sailor Moon fan, including myself, would be well-educated on these many differences.

The edits I made on the page were subtle but small. When Minako was introduced in the first arc, that arc is known as The Dark Kingdom Arc. I italicized it in order to show it's prominence in the series. I also made a few minor grammar changes to make the article flow better. Before I edited the article, the last time Sailor Venus' article was edited was on December 29, 2015. The last time it was edited was to correct potentially false information and sabotage that could have occurred to the article.

As for the talk page, in all thirteen years that the article has existed, there isn't a talk page for Sailor Venus.

There is one, Carly. Not sure if you didn't know how to find the tab or just missed it. Aschuet1 (talk) 03:52, 11 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
