Speedy deletion nomination of Z-Clan edit

A tag has been placed on Z-Clan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Re: Z-Clan deletion edit

Hi. I apologize for the lateness of my reply. I'm assuming that this edit means you would like the deletion of Z-Clan reviewed? I don't know if this is necessarily a case for the Deletion Review process; I don't really think the article was deleted outside of established criteria, so the review would probably not result in reinstatement. But I will restore the article and submit it for further discussion at Articles for Deletion. That way you can put forward your concerns to a wider audience. The page is at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Z-Clan. ... discospinster talk 13:43, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Also, to address the specific concern you outlined on my talk page: even if other articles exist that also don't meet Wikipedia's criteria, it's not an argument to keep one particular article that doesn't. Instead, it would be an argument to delete those other articles as well. Each article has to stand on its own merits, especially when it comes to the basic criterion of notability (and whether the article shows how the subject is notable). ... discospinster talk 13:48, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Z-Clan edit

Wikipedia is edited almost entirely by unpaid volunteers who are not required to have any experience, training or qualifications. In order to try and achieve the goal of creating a high quality, reliable and accurate encyclopaedia all information on Wikipedia should be verified by citing reliable sources. In order to ensure a neutral, unbiased tone independent sources are almost always required in order to cover a topic. Effectively the best way to argue for inclusion of the group would be to point out instances of where the group has received independent coverage from reliable sources. Self published sources - such as blogs, or wikis - are generally not considered reliable unless written by an established expert in the field, Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Sources has a lot of information on possible sources for video game related articles.
