Welcome to Wikipedia!

edit

Here is a "Welcome" message that Pete(r) sent me, when I had just joined and was very shy about "doing" anything here.

Welcome!

Hello, Carlaaxtman, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

There are a lot of further references on these pages; one that I particularly like (about editing) is Wikipedia:Be bold. In fact, every time I look at any of these pages, I discover something else useful! (I just discovered the page Wikipedia:Picture tutorial, this covers (nearly) everything I ever wanted to know on the subject of formatting and positioning pictures!)

Enjoy, and don't be shy about asking questions. People are very happy to help. — Martha (talk) 03:47, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
