Thank you very much for making me feel welcome. You have no idea, how much I needed to feel that I'm welcome somewhere. Heartfelt thanks to you for your kindness! ♥ —Ylva Carennah (talk) 23:28, 18 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

If you're taking requests... edit

Personally I would be curious to hear more about what Johan Helsingius is up to nowadays, and what the long-term political response to the Penet remailer was. (He famously issued the statement "I will close the remailer for the time being because the legal issues concerning the Internet in Finland are yet undefined.", but I never heard whether such a definition was made. Though I assume the worst ... which nowadays usually is much too optimistic!) Just a thought! Wnt (talk) 01:01, 18 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

I will take those under consideration. I must admit, I'm curious myself as I haven't heard from him lately, and have been too lazy to contact him to ask how he's doing nowadays. I'll have to see the length of those articles, as I decided that I'd start with articles that are a bit shorter also in the Finnish Wikipedia, just to better get the hang of things.
I actually chose as my first translation an article about a subdistrict of Finland's capital, Helsinki, partly because I have lived in that subdistrict, and I noticed that I have a nice-looking photo (I'm an amateur photographer) that shows what the place looks like. I thought I could upload it to Wikimedia Commons and use it as an addition to the article. (Of course, first I'll have to take a better look at Wikimedia Commons and how it works, since I've never uploaded any of my photos there.) I've mainly published my photos on the Web as copyrighted, but I noticed that I have this nice-looking photo that I haven't used anywhere yet, so I could as well give it to be used in Wikimedia Commons, and in the article I'm translating right now. :)

Major or minor edit? edit

In the Finnish Wikipedia, the rules say that when editing one's own user page, the edit is always allowed to be marked as a minor edit. I checked the rules here, and one's own user page was not mentioned in the list of minor edits. So, when I edit my user page (i.e. User:Carennah), what shall I do? Shall I mark it as a major or minor edit? Thanks in advance! —Ylva Carennah (talk) 12:37, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Moi Ylva. I've never come across the question before. I don't think it matters much as long as we stick to the guidelines in Wikipedia:User pages. Best, Sam Sailor Talk! 12:57, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
