License tagging for Image:Chopz and heather.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Chopz and heather.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:05, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate images uploaded

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Ninian.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Ninianpark2.jpg. The copy called Image:Ninianpark2.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 17:30, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Ninianpark.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Non-free use disputed for Image:Ninianpark.jpg

edit
  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Ninianpark.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 14:48, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

2 DJ's

A tag has been placed on 2 DJ's, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Berean Hunter (talk) 16:21, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

New Section - Please Read

edit
Please don't recreate material that was previously deleted, it could be considered vandalism. Use your userspace/sandbox to build the article, cite valid, independent references that show that "2 DJ's" is notable, and then contact me. If you continue to simply use Wikipedia for testpage and vanity purposes, you will be blocked from editing. Thanks, Keeper | 76 16:41, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Ccfclogo07-08.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Ccfclogo07-08.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:21, 13 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Cardiff 08 09.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
