Welcome!

Hello, Cardiff, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  --Terence Ong 01:48, 26 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

A few comments

edit

Of course edits to Wikipedia are welcome and only in certain circumstances will editors be blocked from changing the encyclopedia. Nonetheless, certain conventions have developed. First, article names and the bolded first mention of titled individuals don't include the honorariums, such as His Royal Highness, HRH, etc. Adding them only leads to another editor removing them. It has happened many times before and will probably happen again. Please don't contribute to it. Second, in order to keep the cross-Atlantic peace, dates in Wikipedia are either 4 December or December 4. Please don't link to other articles that are merely redirects, such as 4th December or December 4th. Remember, you can change the appearance of the linked text using the | or "pipe", such as Her Majesty. Third and most importanly, please stop deleting the bottom matter of articles, especially the categories. If done without giving a reason, deleting bottom matter looks like vandalism and will raise doubts about the rest of the edits. One more thing: be careful to not use too much Milnesque capitalization. -Acjelen 02:48, 26 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Talk pages

edit

Please do not blank your talk page. Its considered poor etiquette and will not erase the warnings and conversations from the page's history. Thanks and happy editing! .:.Jareth.:. babelfish 13:58, 26 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

No matter the value of your edits and contributions to Wikipedia, blanking the talk page or removing some of the comments left there will lower your esteem in the community. -Acjelen 16:20, 26 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Cardiff

edit

A. Don't blank your talk page - it makes you appear to be editing in bad faith and I did not miss the number of times you've been warned for various activities.

B. Please have the courtesy to discuss your changes on the talk page, as I have done. Vashti 18:11, 26 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've nominated The Principality of Wales for deletion, as indicated there. Please follow the link at the top of the page to vote and participate in the discussion. It is likely to be more profitable for you to help edit the main Wales page, rather than creating forks of existing articles which are not linked anywhere. Thanks! NPOV issues

edit

In addition to the article Cardiff, you have also made edits to Saint David's Day, removed important information, and introduced an apprarent non-neutral point of view.

I reverted Saint David's Day, and will revert other non-NPOV edits. Please see Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Econrad 18:47, 26 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
