If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Gramophone Company of India Limited Vs. Shanti Films Corporation and others, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Tips and notes edit

First of all, thank you for helping improve the tone of the Civic Chandran v. Ammini Amma article. It would particularly help if you could help find and additional sources because the bulk of the current article isn't presently verifiable. Secondly, you can read the reason the article on the Gramophone Company of India case was deleted here. As you can see the reason wasn't that the subject was non-notable, but rather because the article would have to be fundamentally re-written to comply with wikipedia standards (the original authors of both these articles don't appear to be active). If you wish to recreate an article on the subject you are welcome to do so, but do not do it in wikipedia mainspace; use the Draft space instead. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers. Many thanks for those clarifications! Will try to further improve Civic Chandran v. Ammini Amma. With regard to Indian copyright cases like this, one big problem is that we will have to rely more or less completely on the judgment itself, as there are not many good secondary references available. Hope you can understand the situation. Will also rewrite the Gramophone Company of India case and use the wikipedia draft option as suggested. Cheers! Capri2232 (talk) 16:14, 28 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
A quick note: On wikipedia, articles must be based mainly upon secondary literature, and not primary sources such as court judgments themselves. This is quite the opposite of the standards of academia where original analysis of primary sources is valued and regurgitation of secondary sources disdained (at least outside introductory sections/chapters). Here the former is verboten, and the latter the ideal. So if a court case has not been analyzed and commented upon in secondary sources, it should not have an article on wikipedia, irrespective of how important we may consider the case to be in our personal judgment. See wikipedia's notability policies for further details.
Also, if you are planning to write articles from scratch see WP:FIRST for some useful introductory tips. Abecedare (talk) 18:02, 28 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
Could you please explain how pages like this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feist_Publications,_Inc.,_v._Rural_Telephone_Service_Co. have been existing in Wikipedia for so many years? Please also have a look at the references there. This is just one example and you can see most of the landmark decisions from the US in wikipedia. I'm curious whether Wikipedia has made any formal policies with regard to notes on judicial decisions. Couldnt find it in the page you suggested Capri2232 (talk) 01:30, 29 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
