Toyota Aurion lead infobox image edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. It is very nice to see that you're willing to provide freely licensed images of your Toyota Aurion for use here at Wikipedia. Your image Image:Aurion in Canberra.jpg is very artistic, but that fact that it is black and white makes it inappropriate for the article. However, for any future images, would it be possible to leave them in colour and possibly, provide a tighter crop? A good guide to follow in terms of the car angle would be this image: Image:Toyota Camry (sixth generation) (front), Serdang.jpg. Also if you could get rear-end, interior and engine shots that would be great. I look forward to seeing more of your images here on Wikipedia. Happy editing! Hey OSX, future images will be in full colour, I felt something eye catching and characteristic of the car's personality would make a nice chance from the rather dull lead infobox images. I should point out that the colour of the car in the image is fairly well unaltered, only the surrounding areas of the image and the contrast of the tyres and windows is altered, so the vehicle is for the most part unaltered. I did see the 6th Generation Camry shot, speaking from a photographic view point, it breaks the rules of car photography. Wrong viewpoint level, no polariser used to remove window glare and the background is not controlled. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Capital photographer (talkcontribs) 10:32, April 20, 2008
I'm not saying that the Camry shot is the world's most compelling image, I'm just saying that the angle is right in the fact that it shows both the front and side of the car nicely. I am sure you can take a far superior shot and I welcome you to do so. As a side-note you may want to read the Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles guidelines on images: Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles/Conventions#Images. Your recent edits edit

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. Toyota Aurion edit

Hi, I've had to re-revert your edits. Below is a list outlining my motive behind each change.

  • Image:Toyota Aurion (Prodigy) edit2.jpg, this image has been moved the the Wikimedia Commons under the filename Image:2007 Toyota Aurion Prodigy 06 (edit 3).jpg. This is so the image can be used on all other Wikimedia projects (German Wikipedia, Wikitionary (dictionary), Wikinews, et cetera).
  • Infobox image width: the de facto infobox width for automobile articles is 250px. However, I agree this is particularly small, so I'll compromise at 300px only because some other non-automobile related articles embrace this width.
  • Large family car ---> large car: "large family car" term is not used in Australia, but the article serves to include both terms.
  • "Multi award winning": this term reeks of WP:POV, has to go (sounds like an advertisement: "The multi-award winning Toyota Aurion V6, the game has changed Australia").
  • Galleries: these are generally discouraged in articles. The Optitron gauges and front-side detail shot are no real benefit to the article. The front-side, rear-side, side profile and interior shots are however. If you are keen on having a gallery that is fine, but host it at "Wikipedia's" image hosting sister the Wikimedia Commons. To start the gallery click here. You will notice that if scroll down to the "TRD Aurion" section that there is a Commons box located at the right. This link will take you to a category of Toyota Aurion images. A category, while bears a resemblance to a gallery, is not.
  • Globalisation: please take the Asian Camry into consideration. This model is equally as important to the Aurion. For the previous Camry, Toyota sold the Asian Camry with a more conservative front- and rear-end. For the current generation, Toyota took the Australian Aurion model and modified the grille and other details. The Toyota Camry article only brushes on this model, pointing the reader to the Aurion article for more information. "The Camry sold in the ASEANations is essentially a rebadged version of Toyota Aurion sold in Australia." — Toyota Camry. There is no need to duplicate the contents of the Aurion article to the Camry article because "the Asian Camry is not sold as an Aurion". OSX (talkcontributions) 09:17, 27 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ok, compromise accepted and the article looks quite good now. Capital photographer (talk) 11:08, 27 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. By the way, if you have any further queries, don't hesitate to ask. OSX (talkcontributions) 09:15, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

relicensing photograph edits edit

Hi, when you do edits of free-licensed photographs, you must release them under the same license chosen by the photographer. (That legal requirement is how free-content licenses manage to keep things free.) Mangostar (talk) 19:50, 2 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bicolored Antbird edit

Hi there. I just wanted to drop you a couple of quick notes. First, thank you for your support of my edit to the antbird image; I hadn't uploaded any photo edits before and your encouraging words were a nice touch. Thanks! Second, I wanted to give you a heads up about the way you edited your responses. I know your intentions were completely on the up-and-up, but there are folks on WP who get very upset about people removing text as you did, even if you're only removing your own text. The preferred method is to strike through your comments rather than deleting them. Here is a link to the relevant guideline; for most purposes, places like FPC and FAC and the reference desks, etc. are considered the same as "talk" pages. You don't need to undelete your comments on FPC or anything crazy like that, just keep it in mind for the future; you might save yourself a headache down the road. Cheers! Remarkable the improvement isn't it? --Fir0002 02:22, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Wow, you've managed to give the windows a strong blue colour instead of the slight blue reflection of the sky in the original, blown highlights on the bumper, made the colours dull compared to what it looked like in real life when I took it and have made it looked flat and synthetic instead of dynamic. Sorry, I can't see any improvement, quite the opposite. I think it may be wise to invest in a decent display, a lot of your images have poor contrast and colour so I think it would be of great benefit to your own work.
