Welcome edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. To find out how to make useful contributions, take a look at the welcome page. To stay in Wikipedia, an article has to be about something notable, that is, of general interest. Click on Notability for an explanation of what that means, and on Notability (web) for more detail. Also, it must give independently verifiable sources. Articles that don't meet these requirements are likely to be deleted. Follow the links below to learn more:

Notability of CandidClubs edit

A tag has been placed on CandidClubs requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JohnCD (talk) 15:57, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of CandidClubs.com edit

A tag has been placed on CandidClubs.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Minkythecat (talk) 09:51, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I apologize, didn't realize that the username I registered with couldn't have any relation to the company I was writing about. I don't actually work for them and would like to tweak the article further under the following username: cleantech. Feel their company is wikipedia-worthy as they are the only social networking service centered on Nightlife Entertainment to offer its users the capability of streaming live video back to their site. (Ref: http://www.newswiretoday.com/news/38448/) Please advise if this is acceptable?

Decline reason:

Press releases do not meet the criteria for reliable sources, and I do not see that this company meets the notability criteria. Since this company seems to be the only subject you're interested in writing about, since your activities appear to be promotional in nature, and since you haven't expressed any interest in writing the encyclopedia outside of this subject, I'm declining this request for now. — FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 13:59, 8 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
