Unsourced content
editHello, and thank you for trying to improve coverage of football in lesser-known footballing nations. However, what we can't do, is publish swathes of unsourced content. The last two paragraphs of your additions to Real Kakamora FC are completely unsourced, and as they deal with fairly controversial matters in the takeover of a relatively obscure football club by foreign owners and contain disparaging material relating to living people (see the biographies of living persons policy, which applies not just to biographical articles but to all content relating to BLPs), they cannot remain without reliable sourcing.
While I fully understand that football in countries such as the Solomon Islands is not widely covered in abroad, it is covered domestically. Neither the Solomon Star website https://www.solomonstarnews.com/ nor that of the Solomon Islands Football Federation https://www.siff.com.sb/ have any mention of a takeover. Nor does the official Facebook page of the Telekom S-League https://www.facebook.com/p/Telekom-Super-League-TSL-100082954070135/. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a breaking news site.
I'm going to remove those paragraphs, and I'd suggest that you don't put any of their content back until you can source it to reliable and likely accurate sources. Thank you for your understanding. Struway2 (talk) 10:51, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, CanUBeEnjoyer. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Real Kakamora F.C., you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. I noticed from your post at WT:FOOTY that you say you were hired online to edit the Real Kakamora page, hence this notice. Struway2 (talk) 11:11, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
