Orphaned non-free image File:Millonarios crest.svg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Millonarios crest.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Single electrons participate in a final interference problem. edit

I saw your note about how a single electron can interfere with itself. The article says about as much as can be said, as much as anybody knows about it:

The emergence of an interference pattern suggested that each electron was interfering with itself, and therefore in some sense the electron had to be going through both slits at once.

It seems crazy, but that is just the way it is. The best physicists say that if you don't find the experiments that show this kind of thing amazing and paradoxical, then you must not understand the experiment. They don't say you should be able to find it rational somehow.

It happens, and we don't know why. P0M (talk) 22:47, 9 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

December 2011 edit

Your recent editing history at Fisting shows that you are in danger of breaking the three-revert rule, or that you may have already broken it. An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Breaking the three-revert rule often leads to a block.

If you wish to avoid being blocked, instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. You may still be blocked for edit warring even if you do not exceed the technical limit of the three-revert rule if your behavior indicates that you intend to continue to revert repeatedly. July 2012 edit

Your recent editing history at Template:Hacking in 2010 shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Mars Science Laboratory edit

Hello Camilo, please note that the MSL article has been under control for several months, and after significant discussions, a total 3 related articles have been created: MSL, Curiosity and the Timeline. Simply planting a "split" template without familiarizing yourself with the archived discussions is not going to work. Also, a person with your experience in Wikipedia surely realize that no article will host "hundreds if not thousands of images", and is definitely not a reason to split a stable article. Now, the Curiosity article will continue to evolve as the mission progresses, and you are more than welcome to join in the discussions to manage the most relevant images to be included. If you like a good challenge and like to manage multiple images, you can have a lot of fun fixing the Timeline of MSL Curiosity mission, besides it will be a rewarding long-time project; I -and others in this project-- are willing to support you there any way you wish. Cheers, BatteryIncluded (talk)

Replaceable fair use File:Paula broadwell at the daily show.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Paula broadwell at the daily show.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 01:38, 11 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. This image is replaceable and therefore unacceptable under the terms you marked. Please do not add it again. Jokestress (talk) 03:39, 11 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
In this context, "replaceable" means it can be replaced with an image released to Creative Commons or public domain at some point. We can't use a screen shot of a show unless the article is about that show. I feel your frustration on adding images, but we have a very high threshold for what is acceptable use. Let me know what you think edit

Hi, Im wondering if you could help me with something, After another user commented on the List of Presidents of Colombia on being too complicated to read and full of misleading information, which was true, it prompted me to take some action and attempt do some changes and clarifications, specially because its not just this page that has misleading, unclear information, but every page relating to one of our "presidents", their vice presidents, first ladies, government ministers, elections, and the general way Colombian history is told in wikipedia in relation to its leaders and constitutional stages, and by fixing this list it can provide a guideline to fix and edit the relating articles and help in the making of future ones. So after a lot of research I have made some adjustments focusing on the constitutional presidents, like it should be, in any case could you take the time to look over what I've done in User:Mijotoba/List of Presidents of Colombia and give me your opinion and advice, it's hard to find other users from the Colombian wikiproject who may be familiar with its crazy history, and I wanna make sure that Im getting enough feedback before i make the changes in the actual page. Your contributed article, Harbaugh brothers edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Harbaugh brothers. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – each brother. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at each brother – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. reddogsix (talk) 00:27, 3 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Cut and paste move of Colombian Red Cross Society edit

Hi Camilo Sanchez. Retitling a page requires us to move it to a new target name, which keeps the page history intact and is required for copyright attribution. With respect to Colombian Red Cross Society, what you did was paste its content into Colombian Red Cross and then redirect the former. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", which not only need to be reversed and are technically copyright violations, but require fixing by others – sometimes with a lot of effort involved if content at the new location has has edits subsequent to the cut and paste move (though this one was caught early and is now fixed). Please use the move feature in the future. If you can't do so yourself because a redirect already exists and has more than one edit, you can make a request at the technical section of requested moves if the move is expected to be uncontroversial. You can also open a formal discussion of page moves through the same page. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 09:07, 21 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:CipherShed Logo.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:CipherShed Logo.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:05, 13 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Fantastic Four edit

Regarding Fantastic Four (2015 film), you wrote "heavily panned" for the summary sentence, but the sources do not back this particular degree. The source currently says that the film got "bad reviews", and "negative" is synonymous with that. If you can find other sources that use "heavily panned" or similar wording (which to me is a degree harsher than the current wording), you can bring it up on the talk page, where we've been discussing the critical response. File permission problem with File:Icontec logo.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Icontec logo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 12:22, 12 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Latin American 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America/The 10,000 Challenge ‎ has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:28, 27 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
