Abe Okpik
editAbe Okpik would have been appointed mid way in the 5th Northwest Territories Legislative Council and was re-appointed in the 6th Northwest Territories Legislative Council. I know he served out his full term in the 6th Council until the appointed seats were abolished in the 7th. I do not know however if he tried to run in an electoral district to retain a seat. I suspect he did not because he seemed to be a very popular member despite being appointed, and probably would have won.
I also do not know who he replaced or how the seat prior to his appointment was vacated in the 5th Legislative Council unfortunately.
Interesting thing about Abe, I remember reading somewhere while I was researching that period trying to find out who the territorial council members were that he was called the Arab of the North, but for the life of me I can't remember why. Good article start on him by the way. --Cloveious 01:49, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- I can take the blame for that, when I was creating the legislative council stubs I forgot to fix the links to the proper titles from the election articles. Cloveious
Please Consider Archiving this Talk Page...
editYour page is MIGHTY long!!!
If you archive it you could section off subjects that are resolved, old, or rude.
Then people could read the posts that are important easier.
All you need is to:
- /archive1 - Resolved (specific questions not relevant anymore)
- /archive2 - Old (inactive posts over 2 weeks or 1 month old)
- /archive3 - Rude (posts specific to bashing, or having foul language)
- /archive4 - Other (????)
just put these: [[____]] around the /archive# part

By the way, I was reading your older versions of your user page and its really cool to see the progression from that first relatively normal bio to what you have now!

Deletion of Link on Larry Hagman page
editYou deleted the link to http://www.idreamoflarry.com from the external links section of the Larry Hagman page. It looks like the edit was in resonse to another link (not mine) being added to the page.
Your comment was link spam. Can you please be more specific? My web site contains one of the most complete lists of Larry Hagman's credits on the web, and it includes references. Although it is a fan site, and I don't try to hide that fact, it is professional in appearance and content and contains no advertising.
I believe http://www.idreamoflarry.com is of interest to people who read the Larry Hagman Wikipedia entry, as it contains information about him, including an extensive bibliography section, that is not easily available elsewhere.
Is there a general rule against linking to fan websites? If not, is there something about my website that needs to be changed to make it acceptable as an external link? If there is a Wikipedia document that lists standards for external links, can you please let me know where it is?
Thank you in advance for any help or advice you can provide.
LMcIntyre62 02:45, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your input. I added an entry to the Talk section for the Larry Hagman page asking for opinions on adding a link to my site. Hopefully I will get some responses! Looking over the linking guidelines you gave me, the only issue I can find with my site is it contains links to YouTube videos. Technically, any copywright violation is with the YouTube account, not with my site, but I don't have a problem removing questionable links to keep it legal. LMcIntyre62 03:32, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

editWe have a problem on this article again - there is an individual who continually comes on under a variety of similar IP addresses with edit summaries that begin "ROHA" - he has been asked repeatedly not to change the way the name is rendered but he refuses to stop. He has been banned for 3RR, bt he comes back under a slightly different IP address and starts up again. Perhaps if we have long-term sprot he will be discouraged. Or if you have another suggestin. thank you Tvoz | talk 08:41, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for stepping in on this. I think the problem might be resolved by semi-protection, however - the disruptive edits were by what appears to be one editor who comes in on a few different IP addresses. The rest of the editors don't agree on everything, but we haven't been warring. Just a thought. Tvoz | talk 04:22, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Welcome!
editHi, and welcome to the Aviation WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPAVIATION Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, and project-wide collaboration.
- We have a number of child projects and task forces that focus on specific topics and aircraft types.
- We're developing a variety of guidelines for article structure and content, template use, categorization, and other issues that you may find useful.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the experienced project members, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Trevor MacInnis (Contribs) 15:40, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

List of Ray Larabie fonts
editI just finished making the final addition to List of Ray Larabie Fonts and a few seconds later, it vanished. What happened? I know it's not cool to edit one's own personal page but this is a page about fonts. How can I make it reappear? There's a lot of work in there.

Ray Larabie - www.typodermic.com 23:45, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
I noticed that List of Ray Larabie fonts is not listed on your deletion log. What can I do to fix this? I still don't understand the problem with completing an incomplete list, especially when all the information I entered was accurate. I read the deletion review and I don't see anything that explains why a list of 400 font names, some with explanations of origin and the occasional date of creation went missing. It's not just a redirect, all that information is no longer available . . or am I just unable to find it? Please help me out here . . . I really am struggling to figure out why completing the list with accurate data caused it to be removed.
One more question: on the deletion review page, March 17th, it says there's an archive of the article but the original article doesn't exist. I want to ask about why the font list vanished and the link to it vanished as well. I still haven't seen an explanation of why that occurred. I've been poking around for hours looking for an answer but I keep coming up with dead ends everywhere.
Worst case: I need to backup the data on that page for myself but I can't seem to track it down because of the page redirect. Hmm.

merging The Faculty of Engineering article to the Lebanese University article
editHi, we are going to add much more information about the Faculty of Engineering than there is for the rest.. it would make the Lebanese University article being almost entirely for the Engineering Faculty... is that ok?
In addition, currently the website of the Faculty of Engineering in independent of the Lebanese university one. They still have to have 1 wikipedia article?
Should we proceed by growing the Lebanese University part that talks about the faculty of engineering first and then split it if we deem appropriate? thx Charbelgereige 23:06, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Airports Pages
editChristmas Is and Cocos Islands are Australian territories, and shouldn't have their own category (the Indian Ocean Territories is really two territories, not one) - along with the Jervis Bay and Canberra Airports they should stay in the Australian category for consistency. JRG 12:03, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- No - because "Australian territories" would include the Northern Territory, which has plenty of airports, Norfolk Island, and the Australian Antarctic Territory, which now has its own airport as such as well. The Australia category, without a state categorisation, would be more than adequate for small territories with only one or two airports. JRG 13:05, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

editRecently I have shown my colleague Kevin how to edit on Wikipedia. We added him into the list of famous alumni. We are sad to see that you have removed Kevin before we had a chance to complete his wiki user page ready for a reference. Kevin is also hoping that ex teachers may also receive a sense of satisfaction...

editGreetings. I notice that you have helped with vandal cleanups and editing on the Kama Sutra article. editWhy just what one? I haven't a clue what you're referring to. Lexicon (talk) 17:17, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I see, you mean why the "List of"? I was mostly fixing the fact that it was "Canada's busiest airport", in the singular. It doesn't really matter to me whether it's "List of Canada's busiest airports" or just "Canada's busiest airports" (although I'd go for "List of" if I were to choose), but it couldn't stay at just "airport".
