note re your idea

I totally support the idea that you suggested in your post below. is there a way we could get started on this, maybe by discussing some ideas and options for this? also if and when you reply. could you please ping me? thanks.

My proposal is to create a simple page in which new editors can say hi and other editors can greet them. It will introduce newcomers to our community and the concept of editing and communicating. I think being greeted and welcomed would create a warmer atmosphere and aid in editor retention. Korean Wikipedia has a space identical to my proposal Do you see any potential issues? What should the pagename be? From where should it be linked?

@Sm8900: I am happy that you liked my proposal! Since you want to help out, how about creating a draft page first? User:Ca/New Editors' Corner.

About Lombards

Hi! It is That Northern Irish Historian I am here to tell you that the difference is that the Lombards in the draft are modern people, whereas the Lombards in the other article are historical. That Northern Irish Historian (talk) 00:42, 18 June 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for explaining! I leave the draft for another reviewer since I do not understand this subject well. Ca talk to me! 13:42, 18 June 2024 (UTC)

Question on reliable sources

If I were to make a Wikipedia article on a song by an artist. What would be good and reliable source for the article? Newtatoryd222 (talk) 13:37, 18 June 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Newtatoryd222, reliable source is any source that has a reputation for fact-checking and in cases of music, quality reviews. Think Variety (magazine) or professional and notable reviewers. Folks over at Wikiproject Album has compiled a list of reputable sources at Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums/Sources. Ca talk to me! 13:45, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
What about for non-magazines? Like books and fan sites? Newtatoryd222 (talk) 14:07, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
Fan-sites would be generally unreliable since they are mostly work of one random person's opinions. Books are OK as long as it is published by a reputable publisher and/or author. Ca talk to me! 22:55, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
Who are some reputable publishers/authors? Newtatoryd222 (talk) 03:56, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
They can be university publishing houses like Harvard University Press, or experienced critic like Ralph J. Gleason, who has worked in a lot of journalism and is cited by many. To ask about the reliability of specific sources, you can ask at WP:RSN. Ca talk to me! 04:43, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
