Really interesting point made on the difference of language used by Wikipedia vs. The Canadian Encyclopedia. Even when Wikipedia provides an inferior article, there still seems to be value in its accessibility (in this case, not just in terms of cost but in terms of language). I have no idea what fin de siècle symbolism is, either, and I think it’s an important feature of an encyclopedia that you’re able to get information without spending the next half hour looking up related terms. Still, reading these two articles, I agree with your assessment – the Canadian Encyclopedia article provides more in-depth information and gives better context. Great job; I really enjoyed reading your assignment! Tessacarole (talk) 22:40, 24 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

i enjoyed looking at your assignment, it was very informative. The differences in language between Wikipedia and The Canadian Encyclopedia as you said are quite noticeable. The Wikipedia has valuable information and accessibility, but it is in a sense inferior to the Canadian Encyclopedia. The encyclopedia should have a feature that defines terms like "fin de siècle", and provide the symbolism of the term (if there is one). after reading your assignment fully i agree with the assessment, the Canadian Encyclopedia article provides in-depth information and better context. you did a very good job!
