Why would you step in to identify the Smitherman topic as a scandal-du-jour and not step in with regards to the vague form letter response from Ford's campaign [1]? I am very concerned about the selective editing and non-editing by senior Canadian Editors, particularly when I peruse the complete history of Rob Ford and Helena Guergis, so I figure I must be missing something here. When you have a chance, maybe you can try to explain how you decide which of the articles you watch to edit. Lewis MacKenzie

Hello. I'd just like to explain that I'm not reverting your change to my edit at the Lewis MacKenzie article as a knockabout tit-for-tat riposte, I'm serious in saying that Lewis MacKenzie's ongoing support for the Serbian nationalist stance on Balkan issues is significant matter as far his biography and the article are concerned.

I assume from the pattern of UrbanVillager's activities across a series of Wikipedia articles that the original insertion of a mention of MacKenzie's role in the two films was part of an effort to promote awareness of the forthcoming The Weight of Chains film. The film, like its predecessor Kosovo: Can You Imagine? has an obvious Serbian nationalist agenda, which is not remarkable given Malagurski's background. What is significant is that Lewis MacKenzie, long after his very limited period of active involvement in UN peacekeeping in Bosnia continues to involve himself in propaganda for the Serbian nationalist position in relation to the Bosnian war and Kosovo. The reasons remain controversial, but that support is public and sustained. MacKenzie's involvement with Malagurski's films alongside the likes of Srdja Trifkovic cannot be said to be the misadventure of an innocent abroad.

A few references for you to check out, whether or not you agree with what I am saying, just to show you that I'm not simply engaging in an uninformed slanging match aimed at maligning a national hero. Thanks for taking the time to clarify the situation at my User page. I'm very much aware of Canadian sensitivities concerning Lewis MacKenzie, who has frequently courted controversy on the subject of the Balkans (including in a number of areas where he has no special knowledge or expertise) but nevertheless retains considerable respect among Canadians (and others). I wanted to make the reason for my references to Malagurski's affiliations clear. MacKenzie and the other participants in Malgurski's films all have a long history of advocacy for the Serbian nationalist cause (including challenges to the legal findings about war crimes, etc.). I find it difficult to see MacKenzie's involvement with Malagurski as politically innocent. Obviously I wasn't expecting you simply to agree with me when I insist on pointing out the relevance of MacKenzie's longstanding involvement with the propagandists, I just wanted to make it clear that my amendments were thought through, not simply the next step in a tit-for-tat squabble with UrbanVillager.
