Hello CANicoll. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:CANicoll. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=CANicoll|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. --VVikingTalkEdits 19:13, 20 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

CANicoll (talk) 19:21, 20 March 2020 (UTC)I am an telecom industry analyst focusing on the mobile technology space. In reviewing some of the companies with which I am familiar I noticed some are woefully out of date and thus am in the process of trying to provide updates to those sites - starting with Airspan's website which apparently no one has bothered to update in about 10 years. I am not being compensated for my update efforts.CANicoll (talk) 19:21, 20 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

CANicoll (talk) 19:48, 20 March 2020 (UTC) I am trying to take advantage of some downtime given the current state of the industry and provide updates to pages where it does not seem anyone else has interest in updating. Can you please either release my last set of edits or let me know what the further concern is please? I spent about an hour putting those last updates together, referring back to two other company pages I'm using as a guide:Cisco and Mavenir and finding the award references. Thank you.Reply

Careful of promotional

edit

Here is a quick example of what looks very promotional.

  • Airspan is positioned as a market disruptor
  • Airspan has a long history of innovation garnering industry recognition and awards
  • Trillium® TOTALeNodeB™ (we don't use trademark or registered trademarks)
  • focused on innovation and design (Just state the award they won - if the award is notable link to the wikipedia page)
  • recognizing Sprint and Airspan for the Sprint LTE Magic Box that resulted in measurable cost savings, ease of use, and quality of service improvements (Again just the name of the award)
  • The award recognizes companies and products that made significant and positive contributions in innovation and technological progress (if you have to state what the award does it may not be notable enough to include)--VVikingTalkEdits 20:57, 20 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Mean as custard (talk) 09:15, 21 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
