This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because it has been identified as an account used for promotion of a company or group, with a username that implies that this has been done by that company or group. See Wikipedia:Business' FAQ and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. This kind of activity is considered spamming and is forbidden by Wikipedia policies. In addition, the use of a username like yours violates our username policy.

Strange. I saw the Cinema 4D page on Wikipedia listed links to community sites. I run the biggest one so all I did was add my community site to the list. I wouldn't call that spamming.

I am sorry that your attempt to improve Wikipedia has been met like this. To explain: because anyone can edit, Wikipedia is overrun with people who think it is a free advertising noticeboard. We have to devote a great deal of effort to keeping advertisement out, and so have become extremely resistant to anything that looks like promotion.
Wikipedia accounts must be for individuals only, who are personally responsible for them. There are reasons to do with copyright and attribution, but another reason is that group or organization accounts are almost invariably here for promotional reasons and so have a "conflict of interest".
The policy on Wikipedia:External links includes (in the section WP:EL#ADV):

"you should avoid linking to a site that you own, maintain, or represent—even if Wikipedia guidelines seem to imply that it may otherwise be linked. When in doubt, you may go to the talk page and let another editor decide. This suggestion is in line with Wikipedia's conflict-of-interest guidelines."

If you would like to contribute to Wikipedia as an individual volunteer, you are welcome; please set up a new account that will represent only you. In regard to anything concerning your website, you would still be subject to the WP:Conflict of interest rules - see WP:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest. If you think the article would be improved by a link to your website, suggest it on the article talk page, and let uninvolved users decide. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 10:19, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
