Speedy deletion nomination of Southern City Colleges edit

Hello Butchtine,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Southern City Colleges for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Speedy deletion nomination of Southern City Colleges edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Southern City Colleges requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.scci.edu.ph/html/about_us.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Chevvin 20:14, 21 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Regarding Speedy Deletion
Hello, Butchtine. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia.
I'm sorry, but this has been deleted as meeting one or more of the Categories for Speedy Deletion.
Generally, articles are speedily deleted when there is no assertion of significance (WP:CSD#A7) or they fall into things to avoid or what Wikipedia is not.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject.
Sometimes articles are deleted because they contain content copyrighted elsewhere (WP:CSD#G12). Such content can be used as a source of information, but the content here must be completely rewritten from scratch.
Some articles contain material written in a promotional tone. (WP:CSD#G11) These must often be written from scratch. They are vigorously deleted.
Any content that is negative in tone and unsourced or which is disparaging will also be vigorously deleted.
Any deficiencies with notability, sourcing, or things to avoid should be remedied before reposting as they can lead to repeated deletions.

Wikipedia and copyright edit

Hello Butchtine, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Dlohcierekim (talk) 03:08, 22 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism notice edit

Hello, I'm Bumbl loid. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to List of companies in Zamboanga City have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.

The article Southern City Colleges Citadel Sports Arena has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Poorly created article and the significance of the said structure is not enough for its notability to create its own article in Wikipidia. WP:GEOFEAT.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Re: Wikipidia Vandalism edit

No need to apologize sir. I'm just here to help you regarding your contributions to Wikipidia. I'm glad you did your part to improve pages involving Zamboanga City, and you did a job well done. However, seeing your contributions lately, it seems that there's a lot of things to improve at your part. There are also some mistakes you did in editing articles which you've almost violated the guidelines in creating articles in Wikipidia such as blanking an article as to what you did for Universidad de Zamboanga Summit Centre, removing the wikitable in List of companies in Zamboanga City, and as how you created the article Southern City Colleges Citadel Sports Arena which is very short and has little references to look at the internet which might violate WP:GEOFEAT, and might fall under WP:A1.
You had been told to visit the Teahouse as a guide to improve your writing skills in Wikipidia, and we hope you do visit this time. The Teahouse can answer your queries on how to create articles in Wikipidia and on how to improve an existing article. There's also the sandbox where you can able to create drafts first before publish it as an article.
Then again, you don't need to feel sorry from what you did. You did fine though. I wish I have more time to see you soon, unfortunately I'm busy at my work and I can only assist you from here. Then again, The Teahouse can be your avenue to be guided on how you could create good articles in Wikipidia and on how not to violate our rules and regulations. I might as well did experiencing troubles in creating articles back then, but I was guided, thanks to my colleagues here in Wikipidia.
Hope you do well. Keep up the good work, and Muchisimas Gracias for contributing your ideas here. Bumbl_loid (talk) 08:46, 16 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
