Regarding 1859 Oregon's Magazine

(moved from Talk:1859 Oregon's Magazine) Three things:

1. Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material (save under very limited circumstances which this doesn't fall under). In order to accept this material, it needs to be released under a free license compatible with Wikipedia's, such as the Creative Commons license. Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials has information on how to donate materials to Wikipedia.
2. Wikipedia is not a promotional tool. It is an encyclopedia. Even if that material is released under a compatible license, it likely still wouldn't be included as it's promotional in nature.
3. If you work for the magazine, you have a conflict of interest. Wikipedia strives to be neutral, and if you work for the magazine's PR team, it might be difficult to you to write objectively about it. Most editors recommend you stay away from it entirely.

Hi, friend

Holy cow, looks like you've been beat up with a sledgehammer over the 1859 magazine piece. Sorry about that. There are all sorts of red flags associated with new pages by newcomers in the best of situations, and it looks like you've been getting beat up pretty badly...

The good news is that I've worked over the piece pretty hard and I think it's pretty close to being bulletproofed against a deletion nomination. It would be helpful to add a graphic, preferably a cover shot, but as you see from the onslaught above, one must be VERY precise with how that is handled, copyright wise. I invite you to communicate with me by email: MutantPop@aol.com or click the TALK link at the end of my signature and leave a message for me on my "talk page" if you don't mind your correspondence being read by a dozen strangers.

Again, sorry for the brutal onslaught of warnings templates above. Wikipedia does a damned poor job of making new contributors feel welcome. Let me be the first to say it: welcome — it's not always like this!
