Japanese-Korean treaty articles

Thank you very much for fulfilling my request at Translation into English/Japanese and starting English articles for the Japan-Korea Protectorate Treaty of 1904 and the Japan-Korea Annexation Treaty of 1907! Wikipeditor 08:07, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Hōkō-ji

There is no article on 法光寺 in Aomori Prefecture on ja: wikipedia; but, there is a mention of 白華山法光寺 in ja:南部町 (青森県). Should it be restored to the disambig page? Neier 22:08, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

I see. I'm in no way a temple expert, but I do know how ubiquitous they are. I wasn't sure if the mention in the ja: town article was because it was notable, or not. It seems you've done your homework. Thanks for the reply. Neier 04:55, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Hōkō-ji (Kyoto)

What logic explains your removing refernces from this article, or from any article for that matter? There is a well-publicized problem with unreferenced material in Wikipedia texts; and this well-known criticism of Wikipedia's reliability only makes your actions more difficult to fathom. Please explain.

In future, if you see that the article is one that I've created, or the history reveals that I've posted the reference source, I'd appreciate a heads up. It takes you only a matter of keystrokes to undo what it took hours to create, and this becomes something of a disappointment -- especially when I have reason to assume that you are likely to have a plausible explanation. Nova

not sure if you are watching the talk page, so I though I would just post here. In response to the METI restrictions, Sahashi issued a statement 2 days later that they would be looking for a capitol tie up, so in that regard, METI and the attempt to court HIS or any other company are related and would go in that section. Current financial crisis is a part of the history of the company's health. I've copied this over to the talk page and would appreciate it if we could discuss it further thereStatisticalregression 04:11, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Mii-dera

Hi Bueller 007,

Thanks for adding another writing of the name of the temple to the article on Mii-dera. I looked it up in the temple's web site and didn't find that way of writing the name, so I wonder if it's obsolete when referring to Onjō-ji? If Daijisen gave any additional information it might be worth telling readers so they don't think they have a choice of how to write it.

Google produces a 御井寺 in Kurume, but a quick look didn't turn up anything with both ways of writing the temple name (except a disambiguation page in the Japanese Wikipedia, and mirrors).

Japanese castes

Hi

I have seen you put a request for source concerning the division of the uppe-caste in 4 subcastes. I wrote the original article, which was actually an adaptation of the Japanese wiki article 五色の賤 I do not have anything more precise than that... If you can find anything, I guess that would be helpful for the article

regards

Tensaibuta (talk) 03:50, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the answer. OK, seems reasonable, maybe someone on the JP version will substantiate it a bit.

WP:WQA

Whatever good which might have attended a discussion here is best held in abeyance pending whatever develops from inquiries at WP:WQA. In this context, I take some comfort in learning from HelloAnnyong that, at the higher levels of dispute resolution, both users come under scrutiny. I'm quite confident that my entire editing history can withstand close scrutiny. I can't see how User:Bueller 007 can feel similarly at ease with the prospect of a too-revealing examination. --Tenmei (talk) 21:59, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Japanese calligraphy by Satow. The kanji reads "敬和" (Kei-Wa), literally "Respect and harmony".
In light of User:HelloAnnyong's further comments at Talk:Japanese era name#Disputed citation, I have withdrawn my complaint from WP:WQA. Instead, he has convinced me that mediation is the better remedy. No doubt this will take some time. In this evolving context, I would mildly suggest that you and he should re-evaluate what's happening here:
Is it not remotely possible that mine is a reasonable reaction to something unreasonable which has gone on for far too long because I didn't know how to ameliorate the situation?
Think again. --Tenmei (talk) 15:55, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Contact info

Hi there,

I found your page from googling your alias when I was looking up some info on Kanji in Context. I've now learned that you are quite serious about translating and I'm getting more and more excited to ask you a few questions on certain topics like Kanji in Context, general Japanese translation questions, advice, etc. I'm from Canada and learned French in school and afterwards for approximately 16 years... so I can speak it quite well. My Japanese level, however, is a bit better than a novice. I'm 26 now and recently have become determined to master the Japanese language. (well, at least be 100% fluent as any Japanese guy walking around the streets of Japan) simply because I want to watch anime without subtitles.

Could you please e-mail me back? I'm not sure how to get in contact with you... but my e-mail is smujohnson at [google's popular email site].

Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.71.162.221 (talk) 19:31, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:KuronekoYamato.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:KuronekoYamato.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:10, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Chōjū matters

I have many questions: Why isn't Suntory notable but the other museum exibits notable?, Why did you erase all the reliably sourced information I put on the page?...hm....why not source all those Japanese dictionarys? – J U M P G U R U ask㋐㋜㋗ 17:04, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Hello? : ) – J U M P G U R U ask㋐㋜㋗ 20:13, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Okay, so what about those dictionaries you didn't bother to source? /:S – J U M P G U R U ask㋐㋜㋗ 20:20, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Yes I do know Japanese, I sort of assumed some of them. I also need the page number, the EXACT article name, the OCLC, the ISSN, the publisher of the book, and the location of publisher. : ) Why we need this?, so people can completely indentify the book to the very article and sentance of where we got the source, rather than putting this:
== References ==
*Encyclopedia Nipponica, something edition

on the page. :-D That doesn't give us ANY information about how to indentify the book. :) – J U M P G U R U ask㋐㋜㋗ 20:45, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Article has come a long way hasn't it? – J U M P G U R U ask㋐㋜㋗ 00:34, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Typo redirect Apple snow leopard

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Apple snow leopard, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Apple snow leopard is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Apple snow leopard, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Relationship of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes

Yeah, I know that that part of the lead was not "excellent writing" until you "graced it," LOL, but I was trying to keep the lead from having that messy look of the links being bolded and also trying to keep the original relevant terms/words such supercouple and American (as in identifying the couple as American very near the beginning of the lead). But oh well. I will leave it how you have it for now until I can think of a better way to reword it to where the links are not bolded. The awkward-wording/look of the lead started when the title of the article was changed from TomKat. Flyer22 (talk) 22:21, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Chōjū-jinbutsu-giga‎‎

I deleted the sentence claiming the scrolls were on display which they were apparently not (not in the Tokyo National Museum at least). There is a Detached segment of caricatures of animals and humans, Scroll A in the Tokyo National Museum which is sometimes (rarely) on display. Is that the one you are referring to? Compared to the scrolls that were on display at the 2007 exhibition in the Suntory Museum, that segment is rather short. Judging by the crowds at that exhibition the full set of scrolls is not very often displayed. Since you changed on display to entrusted to I got curious what it means. Does it mean that the scrolls (all, not just fragments) are physically located in the respective museums (somewhere in the basement and possibly not on display) or does it mean that the museums are in charge of conservation, etc. of the scrolls while the scrolls are still located at Kozan-ji? bamse (talk) 23:47, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Request

Hi, there. I'm currently editing Silent Alarm to FA standards and was wondering if you'd be so kind as to search here and find out whether the album charted in Japan and, if so, what position it managed. Then you can either message me with the info or add it yourself to the article especially because I would struggle with Japanese characters in the citation. Help is much appreciated. Thank you so so much. Rafablu88 (talk) 06:35, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Removed the prod from Steve Masters

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Steve Masters, which you proposed for deletion, because I think that this article should not be deleted from Wikipedia. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! -- Atamachat 19:44, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
