July 2012 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Ramadan has been reverted.
Your edit here to Ramadan was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://tr.yenisehir.wikia.com/wiki/Dosya:2-185.ayet.ogg) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to an external Wiki, then please note that these links should generally not be included (see 'links to avoid' #12).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 21:12, 12 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Articles about Islam edit

Please notice that you are making some articles about important subjects in the Islam less encyclopedical. Your style seems to be geared toward dogma and propaganda, and those are not contents of an encyclopedia. This is also the reason why I and at least one other editor have reverted virtually all of your edits. Debresser (talk) 00:39, 13 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Also please understand, that the Wikipedia article about the Ramadan is a very visible article, to which literally hundreds of editors have contributed over the years. It is presumptuous to think that you can rewrite this article. At most you could make some small changes. Larger changes would have to be discussed on the article's talkpage. The process of collegial editing doesn't work the way you are behaving yourself so far. Debresser (talk) 00:47, 13 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Warning edit

Do not change headers of section on Talk:Ramadan. You didn't make those headers, and you do not have the right to edit other peoples comments on talkpages. Debresser (talk) 16:14, 13 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

I don't know the proper format to respond as yet... I've been too busy doing research and using my time more productively than to respond, so I am simply posting here.

Again, I am open to any assistance anyone may be willing to provide, but thus far you're the only one who has communicated with me on here.

I haven't come across any such prohibition in Wikipedia nor have the original "authors" of such comments expressed any form of dissent to such amendments of the headers.

Again, I am NEW on here and have no problem abiding by the policies of Wikipedia to not abuse privileges granted, but I must say you come off as very biased, condescending and just outright uncouth.

If you have any references that you feel might be helpful guiding me on here, I am all for it.

Otherwise, spare me the unconstructive criticism and offer me some constructive criticism that doesn't come off as attacking me.

You already made me feel uncomfortable with your prior posting here, and made me feel very uncomfortable calling me out on the Ramadan page.

I must politely insist you re-examine the tone of your postings, or you will force me to learn real fast how to protect myself on here from your version of cyber-bullying.

I am sorry for making you feel uncomfortable. Still, I must insist you keep to Wikipedia standards of behavior and editing. Debresser (talk) 18:45, 14 July 2012 (UT: For the fact that you should not be altering headers of other editors see "Generally, do not alter others' comments, including signatures" on Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Debresser (talk) 18:55, 14 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
No problem and thank you for, both your apology and for sharing something useful to help me moving forward. BuckLava (talk) 02:21, 15 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Qur'an -> Quran edit

The spelling used on Wikipedia is "Quran". Please try and use that spelling, for uniformity's sake. If you strongly disagree, please take this up on the talkpage of Quran. Debresser (talk) 23:13, 25 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

I concur.BuckLava (talk) 23:14, 25 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
It is not an important thing, but it is nice to use the same spelling. I am happy you agree. By the way, one of your edits led me to ask a question on this page. I once was very active there, but not any more. Debresser (talk) 23:34, 25 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

About references edit

If a complete date is available for a reference, then you can use |date= instead of |year=. Also I wanted to ask you, in the origins section you use "Ibid" in one of the references. Could you be more specific, which of the above references you mean? Debresser (talk) 21:13, 29 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
