Blnguyen's RfA

File:Atlanticpuffin4.jpg Hello Buchanin-Hermit. Thank you for your support at request for adminship which ended at the overwhelming and flattering result of (160/1/0), and leaves me in a position of having to live up to a high standard of community expectation. I was surprised that so many non-regular RfA voters turned up to support despite having never interacted over my solitary editing. Naturally, if I make any procedural mistakes, feel free to point them out and I look forward to working with you in the future, Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 06:29, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Surrounding Municipalities box for the GVRD

Hello, B-H. Hate to complain, since you do so much work around her, but I wanted to catch you before you go any farther on rejigging the "Surrounding Municipalities" boxes. I think there should be some sort of discussion as they're starting to look overcrowded and confusing. Personally, I don't think every space needs to be filled. It should only be for municipalities that are immediate neighbours, and we shouldn't put bodies of water. Vancouver's box is a prime example of clutter. There are so many things in there that it's become impossible to quickly interpret the data. (It even lists Hope!) The ones on the North Shore aren't perfect - they could use a restyle, and there are some layout issues - but it is much easier to get a feel for the layout of the communities. Using the TransLink station box as an analogy, you should be able to hop from one to another, each new box revealing the next municipality. Let's put our heads together and come up with something better. --Ckatz 08:39, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Hey... just wondering if you'd had a chance to look at the latest revision in your sandbox. No rush... --Ckatz 03:48, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
Hello again... before we put this across the GVRD, we still need to revisit how exactly to fill it. I'm not convinced that every space needs to be filled - that just looks crowded. (Part of the reason for the new design code was to allow an easy way to NOT have to fill every space - the code handles it.) --Ckatz 19:02, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

My RfA

Thank you for the trust that you had in me when you supported my Request for Adminship. The nomination ended successfully and I am actually overwhelmed by the support that I received. Thanks again! -- Kim van der Linde at venus 06:21, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

The L Word

Wow, I can't believe you're going to make an appearance on The L Word. That is just too cool. Let us know how the cast/crew are in real life ;-) --Prionesse 14:47, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

A very sad thank you

Thank you for your vote in my recent RFA. At 43/43/14, I decided it was best to withdraw. I will wait until another time for an RFA. Thanks again, ILovePlankton 03:19, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Barnstar for the (in my opinion) best userpage!

For your brilliant userpage! Jean-Paul 06:07, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Just changed the Barnstar to one more appropriate for this sort of reward.

Question about Nayaks

Hi, I've just read your comment to User:Southernstar about copyright -- greatly appreciate the moderation and patience you show, there -- and I'd like to be clear about just what the issues are or have been. Her / his articles interest me, very much, and I'd like to help with some copyediting...

So, as I understand it anyway, the Tanjore Nayaks article is the one which once looked like a copy altho this seems to have been corrected: is that right? And the Madurai Nayaks article never was a problem: right again?

I'll proceed with copyedits on both, plus others like them by User:Southernstar; but if there are current copyright problems with any of them I'd be grateful for a note from you, as I don't want to spin my wheels on articles about to disappear.

PS- using ALL CAPS reads like you're yelling. Readers appreciate lower case letters. Thanks, Hu Gadarn 16:27, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure what is being referred to here. I don't remember writing anything like that. Ever. -→Buchanan-Hermit/?! 16:51, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Oh okay. I saw what happened [1]. I reverted your edit not because it's not accurate or anything like that. The reason for it was that it was written in caps and the sentence structure did not seem coherent. It also lacked sources and citations (which would violate WP:OR), and the use of the word "wrongly" violates WP:NPOV (as that word always has a POV slant to it). Also, the last part was added in the wrong place -- sections of an article should NEVER go after the categories. You may re-enter that information, but please make sure that a) your additions are properly cited and supported by other sources (to maintain verifiability) and b) they are written in a coherent manner that would make sense to outsiders as well (i.e. NO CAPS). If you wish to emphasize a point, don't use caps; instead, try using italics (which can be done using ''these marks''. Thanks. -→Buchanan-Hermit/?! 17:04, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

FIFA cup

Hello Buchanan-Hermit,

Just wondering, do you say the world cup finals or world cup to refer to the entire FIFA cup that will start tomorrow?

Cheers,
