February 2024 edit

Hello, I'm Tgeorgescu. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Herod the Great seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please read WP:RS/AC. tgeorgescu (talk) 04:16, 2 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

The revision I made was to remove a non-neutral point of view, and to make the section consistent with the citation. The cite given for the premise that "most scholars" do not believe the infanticide was historical does not support that position. This is a basic principal of using citations (and something I deal with daily as a lawyer). Citing to an authority is only relevant if that authority supports the position.
Also, I'm curious why any particular person at Wikipedia is more authorized than another to make such decisions. Are you a Herod scholar? Btsom (talk) 19:14, 2 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
