Protecting your userboxes

edit

Because of the current campaign against userboxes, it's pretty likely that many of your boxes are going to get deleted from their template space soon (especially your Flying Spaghetti Monsterism box, but in general, any boxes that could be considered to express a point of view someone might disagree with). These templates could very possibly be deleted in the next week or two. The best (and really, only) way to protect those userboxes is to perform a "substitute" command on each one of them, which will put the code directly into your page, instead of calling on the template every time your page is loaded. That way, when the template is deleted, it has no effect on the code resident on your page.

In order to do this, go into your user page, and wherever you have a template, insert "subst" inside the brackets. So,

{{template name}} becomes {{subst:template name}}

and your userboxes will all take up residence on your page. Sometimes this makes the formatting funky, and will require some tweaking in the code to restore the layout of your boxes as they were before. If you have any questions about this, please drop me a line. Regards, JDoorjam Talk 23:22, 19 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

edit

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&type=delete&user=&page=The+Juggernaut+Bitch

this link shows the article having been deleted because of this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/The_Juggernaut_Bitch) vote. However, the consensus, as you affurmed, was keep.

Why is the article deleted?Brokenfrog 00:37, 12 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

If you read the comment below my summary for the keep vote, you will see that the article was relisted on AfD, with a delete consensus - Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Juggernaut Bitch (again). Please read these things through thoroughly!  (aeropagitica)  (talk)  06:52, 12 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Tayloru.gif)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Tayloru.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Larry R Helyer

edit

A "{{prod}}" template has been added to the article Larry R Helyer, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Morris hall.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation.--Jorfer (talk) 16:25, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Category:Mistresses of Tiger Woods

edit

This category is not a wise idea. See the biography of living persons policy. In short, as long as he has not admitted it and extremely reliable sources have not reported it, we cannot describe it without reservations in a category.--Chaser (talk) 06:57, 8 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello Brokenfrog! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 876 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Jay Kesler - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Eugene Habecker - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
