I am working on a biographical entry for Christian Renatus von Zinzendorf that I will put into my sandbox (hopefully I have it figured out) for comments. Brojohannes (talk) 04:56, 17 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

/sandbox I'm setting up this page for a second, related article to Christian Zinzendorf. This one will be on the German community of Herrnhaag where Christian was the leader in the late 1740s. Brojohannes (talk) 22:58, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

oops! I thought I was setting up a new page, rather than a continuation of the existing page. Should I put it on a user subpage? {{help}} Brojohannes (talk) 23:00, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, you asked for help without asking a question. What do you want to know? neuro(talk) 23:33, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

{{helpme}}I'm working on three related articles; a biographical entry of an eighteenth-century spiritual leader plus two place articles about spiritual communities associated with him. I've developed the articles on my PC and will transfer them to Wikipedia. So far I've established a sandbox with two user subpages so I'll have separate areas for each article. Is this the right way to do this? Then I want to get feedback on the articles to help improve them. I've prepared the biographical entry to have a list of contents, an explanatory initial paragraph, the box that typically goes on the right side with basic stats and a picture, additional pictures (to be set up through Wikimedia Commons), plus verifying information such as footnotes, references, bibliography, external links and categories. Now I don't know HTML so my major concern is how all this stuff gets set up in the proper Wikimedia format so it looks like a biographical entry. I've looked under "templates" to see if there is a single biographical page template that would include all of these items that I could use to fill in the proper information but if there is I can't locate it. I have the same concerns regarding the two "place" entries, meaning I don't know how to put the information I've prepared into the correct format. This is what I'm seeking help with. Sounds good. However we don't use HTML here on Wikipedia. I suggest Ccopying your entries onto Wikipedia, and an experienced User will come along and make it Wiki-standard. Also try going onto a existing biography (such as Barack Obama and copying the teplate from there, and edit it. Hope this helps! --Imagine Wizard (talk contribs count) Iway amway Imagineway Izardway. 20:38, 24 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Very helpful. Many thanks. Brojohannes (talk) 21:14, 24 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

{{helpme}}Somehow three blue-dotted boxes are appearing on my article. Each one sets up the paragraph it contains into a single horizontal line rather than keeping it within the margins of the rest of the article. Why is this happening and how can it be eliminated? Many thanks.Brojohannes (talk) 17:40, 27 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Make sure there are no spaces before the paragraphs - this will cause the entire paragraph to be displayed in this way. :) Stwalkerstertalk ] 17:43, 27 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Many thanks!Brojohannes (talk) 17:48, 27 January 2009 (UTC) {{helpme}} I'm inserting pictures from Wikimedia Commons into my article but I notice that only the pictures are added, not the captions. Is this normal or is there something I can do to make sure the captions are included? Many thanks. Brojohannes (talk) 17:59, 27 January 2009 (UTC) {{helpme}}I'm ready to put this article currently in my sandbox plus the two related articles currently on my user subpages into the encyclopedia. How do I get it out of the sandbox? Currently my user page says /sandbox. However I'm worried if I edit the page by deleting that, that I'll lose all three articles. I don't want to do anything irreversible. Please advise, and thanks. Brojohannes (talk) 15:10, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
