Notability of Hakan Ozkok

edit

A tag has been placed on Hakan Ozkok, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Blair - Speak to me 07:42, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Sanko Pazarlama, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. SMC89 ( talkcontribs ) 08:24, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your attention. But its easy to check if I have written anything wrong. Sanko Pazarlama is the marketing arm of Sanko Holding. Owners are same. You may visit web site of sanko holding: www.sanko.com.tr. Best regards.
Hi =) It's not really the fact that you have written anything wrong - it's just that the article did not meet Wikipedia's standards because it was so short providing little context to readers. If you want to recreate the article then it is important that you assert the company's significance and you would need to expand the article. If it is an arm of Sanko Holding, perhaps it would be better to include your information on that parent article and create a redirect to that instead if you're not confident that you can add enough information for an article of its own. Good luck =) If you have any questions, just ask! SMC89 ( talkcontribs ) 08:35, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hakan Ozkok

edit

In reply to your comment: You're very welcome =) Regarding Hakan Ozkok, it's a good contribution so far so thanks very much. The reason that the article was proposed for deletion is due to notability issues. First of all I'd reccomend that you read Wikipedia's notability guidelines to see what is expected of an article about a person. Also, there are guidelines for biographies of living persons which are also important. In short you basically need to make sure you state why he is important and back this up with links to websites or information from books etc. For example, if he is going up for elections then make sure you say in the article what the election is for and how he is involved. Good luck =) SMC89 ( talkcontribs ) 08:55, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've responded to your comment on my talk page. I've also added the welcome box at the top of the page which contains some links that may be useful to you. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia so far, and long may they continue. Blair - Speak to me 02:27, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello Brianithaca! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 903 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Hakan Ozkok - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Proposed deletion of Hakan Ozkok

edit

The article Hakan Ozkok has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references failed to find significant coverage in reliable sources to comply with notability requirements. This included web searches for news coverage, books, and journals, which can be seen from the following links:
Hakan Ozkoknews, books, scholar
Consequently, this article is about a subject that appears to lack sufficient notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
