After about six months it is most unlikely that there would be any citations in peer-reviewed publications. However, according to Altmetric, there has been a great deal of interest in this article. At December 30, Altmetric had recorded the amount of attention received by 2.79 million papers since they were first published, and reported that Earl (2014) was in the 94th percentile, only 5 months after publication.
