Your draft article, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Mailpile

edit

Hello BrennanNovak. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Mailpile".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Mailpile}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 16:18, 18 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Permission for File:Qubes OS Logo Icon.png

edit

Hi BrennanNovak! Thanks for uploading File:Qubes OS Logo Icon.png. At the file description page, you explained the image was released into the public domain by its creator, and that evidence of this release would be "provided on request". I know this seems strict, but our image use policy requires this permission of evidence be made clear and unambiguous on the file description page, and images without evidence of permission fall under section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion and may be deleted after a seven day grace period for the uploader. Please don't worry though, I have not tagged the file for speedy deletion; however, I just want to let you know of this issue so that you can resolve it.

Evidence of permission is typically provided by a link to a note or statement at the original publication site (such as the source website where the image was pulled from) that the image is freely available under either a free license or the public domain. An alternative is to have the copyright holders of the image send an email (using an email address associated with the organization in question) to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating ownership and the intent to publish it under an acceptable free license or to the public domain. You can find a sample permission email here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page.

Since the image is a logo, even if you cannot provide evidence of permission, it is still possible to display the image on Wikipedia as non-free content. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If evidence of permission is not provided, I will probably in the future convert the file description page to describe the image as a non-free file under Wikipedia:Non-free content (instead of tagging it for deletion). Thank you. Mz7 (talk) 21:44, 10 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Qubes OS Logo Icon.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Qubes OS Logo Icon.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 04:06, 7 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
