Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (Brandbureau) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guideline to avoid editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

Proposed deletion of Eva Ritvo edit

The article Eva Ritvo has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article does not meet WP:NOTABILITY threshold for inclusion as a biography of a living person. Claims are not supported by any references or links. The references provided are merely profile pages, not significant coverage. Author's possible association with brandbureau.com suggests a conflict of interest, possibly hired to write this article.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~Amatulić (talk) 00:37, 6 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

This is a big misunderstanding. My username brandbureau was an unfortunate choice ... Indeed that is where I work, but I do not represent the agency on Wikipedia. I am someone that has some outside knowledge about her ... she is a notable author that has recognizeable (well known) work in women's issues. She has a book published by Random House and in the national media. I can provide some better references for the article and point to some more lofty media articles. Per the block notice, please allow me the opportunity to fix/improve the article.

Decline reason:

There are actually two reasons for blocking you:

  • The reason given by the blocking admin above. The article you wrote was promotional, the claims in it were not properly referenced as required by Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, and were not supported by the links you did provide. The article will likely be deleted. Your account gives the appearance of being used for promotional purposes. Please read our conflict of interest guideline.
  • We have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, therefore your account has been blocked. You are welcome to create a new account with a username that represents only you.

Also please answer the question: Is Eva Ritvo a client of Brand Bureau?

I will change your block settings to allow you to create a new account. Then, I suggest creating the article in your own userspace first, rather than creating it in mainspace where it will likely be deleted. ~Amatulić (talk) 17:29, 6 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • Is Eva Ritvo a client of your agency? JohnCD (talk) 14:31, 6 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Eva Ritvo is not represented by Brand Bureau ... I just chose that name, unfortunately, a while back so that it was similar to other usernames. I will not longer use this Wikipedia username. I was not aware of the rule on usernames ... with Wikipedia, always learning. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.34.8.29 (talk) 19:19, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
