Speedy deletion nomination of Aaron Forwell edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Aaron Forwell requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. {{unblock|reason=I got blocked because I thought that because the Queen died everyone in the royal family got updated titles. e.g. I thought Harry was Duke of York. Request reason:

I got blocked because I thought that because the Queen died everyone in the royal family got updated titles. e.g. Harry becomes Duke of York. I now realise that this is false and I really was a bit of a foolby continuing to update the page after administrators had deleted my contributions. I love Wikipedia and never meant to vandalise it. In fact, I was really upset when I found out I was banned. So please DrKay, or any other administrator, please allow me to contribute to this wonderful site once again Brainyboy2012 (talk) 07:16, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

I'd like you to prove that you can make policy-compliant edits to Wikipedia. Please read through our core content policies, how to cite sources, and this guide. Using this knowledge, please propose a constructive edit here on your talk page. It could be as simple as suggesting a fact that could be included in an article about your favorite video game or film, backed up with a citation to a reliable source. The proposed edit should be something that can be copied verbatim into an encyclopedia article. You can immediately make another unblock request with your response. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 18:40, 5 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

What steps would you take to prevent issues like this in the future? This is one of the reasons why Wikipedia isn't written according to personal knowledge. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 09:32, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

I would only edit areas that I am absolutely sure on and I would spend more time on research. I would also listen to more experienced Wikipedia editors advice. Brainyboy2012 (talk) 09:56, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

You already have an unblock request open. You don't need to open a second one. Just reply normally without the template. As I mentioned, Wikipedia isn't written according to personal knowledge. People are not good judges of their own competence; sometimes their enthusiasm overtakes their competence. Our articles need to be written according to reliable sources. You shouldn't add statements to Wikipedia without citing your source. If your source is "I feel in my gut that it's true", it shouldn't be added. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 00:15, 12 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

I understand that, however I did state that I would spend more time on research; meaning that I wouldn't edit without finding reliable sources to back up my statements. Brainyboy2012 (talk) 05:06, 12 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I was asked by Wikipedia administrator NinjaRobotPirate to suggest a constructive edit to a Wikipedia article of my choice. So here it is: On the Wikipedia article titled 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Diper Överlöde' I have found three flaws that should be corrected by editors as soon as possible. Flaw 1: One part of the article states that Greg reluctantly joins Rodrick's band. However, he does not join reluctantly; in fact, he willingly helps the band prepare for a big tournament without any pressure from Rodrick or any of the other band members. This information can be found near the start of the book. Flaw 2: It does not state that Greg is joining Rodrick's band. It merely states "The story follows Greg Heffley as he reluctantly joins his brother, Rodrick Heffley into Heavy Metal.". As it just says 'Heavy Metal' the reader would not know exactly what it means. Is it a television show called Heavy Metal or is it perhaps part of a job that includes working with metal? As Wikipedia is designed to provide helpful and clear information to its readers this confusion must be solved! The fact that it is a band is mentioned multiple times in the book. Flaw 3: It says that Greg JOINS Rodrick's band. This is not true. He helps out the band and follows them around for the majority of the book. I hope that this reply was what you wanted and that I can become a member of Wikipedia in advance. Thanks! Brainyboy2012 (talk) 18:06, 10 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

The suggested edits all concern changes to a plot summary, and thus do not demonstrate an understanding of how to use sources. I would recommend coming back to Wikipedia editing when you're a bit older. signed, Rosguill talk 04:27, 30 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I understand your reasons, but I am 27, so not exactly young; so I think this is the end for me and Wikipedia. Thanks Brainyboy2012 (talk) 07:05, 30 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
