July 2009 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Combat Colin has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \bwikia\.com\b (links: http://gijoe.wikia.com/wiki/combat_colin). If the external link you inserted or changed was to an external Wiki, then please note that these links should generally not be included (see 'links to avoid' #12).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 18:09, 18 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Result summary boxes edit

Evening Bouncelot.

A good rule of thumb for the result summary boxes is - if the result is notable, put them in. This starts to bend a little with those exceptions which come along to test the rules - this year's Irish general election, for example, and most European Parliament elections. I would always stick with the three parties that hold the leading positions in the specific contest at hand. Any additional parties can then be added on merit - do they have comparable seats or percentage vote share? Have they made significant gains - or indeed losses? Fixed rules tend not to work - elections like to behave on their own rules that way doktorb wordsdeeds 21:53, 3 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
