Request reason:

Kindly request to be unblocked from developing a Wikipedia page for Boulder Crest Retreat. It was never my intent to create the page for advertising, self-promotion, conflicts of interest and notability. I have reviewed closely your guidelines for advertising, self-promotion, conflicts of interest and notability. While I have worked as the Boulder Crest cook and garden specialist here for one year, I am not being paid to create a Wikipedia page for Boulder Crest. I am “volunteering” in good faith to create this Wikipedia page because of the historic nature of the Boulder Crest program and implications of this revolutionary method in the field of helping combat veterans and first responders. The reference work, information and knowledge in this field of study are vital to helping our military families and first responders. I am a military veteran and a witness to the difference Boulder Crest is making in the lives of our military families and first responders. Many of your readers will want to know about Boulder Crest as an original and valued source of reliable information, compiled by experts using Post Traumatic Growth as a healing modality. When I was creating the Wikipedia page last week, I saw a blocked message appear when I was trying to link an factual video from Facebook to the Wikipedia site. That day, I removed the video link to see if the block would go away. I was unaware that I was fully blocked until I logged on this morning. One thing I am unclear about is whether all Facebook videos are blocked or if it appeared to be self-promoting. The solution I have found is to go back to the original source for the videos and link them as third party sources. Meanwhile, in my draft version … I have removed the Facebook video links from the body text. Also I removed the how- to-help information to avoid any notion that this page was trying to raise money or advertise for this Non-Profit 501(c)3 Boulder Crest organization. To avoid any conflict of interest, I removed references to my working at Boulder Crest Retreat and removed names of those people I know. I do not know the board of directors or honorary board members, and would like to leave their information on because I think it adds credibility to this healing program by showing who the board members are and helps contribute to the general education behind this program. The Wikipedia page is not about us, the staff, but about the program and its importance in transforming the lives of our military service members and first responders. My deepest apologies for any appearance of advertising, self-promotion, conflicts of interest and notability. Creating the Boulder Crest page is not for the purpose of promotion but for education and information. If more people know, then more people can help our veterans and first responders. By your alerting me to your concerns about what I have written so far, I have edited a different version to more clearly highlight the fact that Boulder Crest is a historic U.S. first. Boulder Crest is the first organization in the nation to develop a program of this type, that uses post-traumatic growth (PTG) to help combat veterans find their futures. Rather than use medications and therapy, Boulder Crest uses signature PTG programs to unlock the veteran’s potential. Boulder Crest also offers free family rest and reconnection stays, which is unheard of. There are many third person sources to collaborate this information without me having to link it back the Boulder Crest web site. I have searched carefully and will emphasis citations in third person. There are countless sources that have visited Boulder Crest and have written about the program or produced videos. I will improve the Wikipedia page by sharing their information in the form of links to their resources. I “will not” create a shared organizational account. I understand, that the account is mine, not my employer's. Since September 11, 2001, our country has witnessed the longest sustained period of conflict in America's history. More than 2.7 million service members have deployed to war zones across the globe, many multiple times. While many tend to focus on the trauma and tragedy inherent to war, Boulder Crest focusses on the veteran’s rare skills and abilities that are seldom seen and badly needed here at home in the United States. These men and women have the experience, the ability and the potential to be our nation’s Next Greatest Generation. Allowing me to create a Boulder Crest page has productive contributions for your Wikipedia readers. The block is no longer necessary because I understand what I am blocked for and will not do it again. PS I need help changing the USER NAME from Boulder Crest Retreat to Boulder Crest dropping the word “Retreat” can you help me?.

Decline reason:

Firstly, dropping the "Retreat" from your username probably would not be enough to not run afoul of WP:CORPNAME, a part of the username policy. Secondly, I just took a look at your now-deleted draft: "committed to improving the physical, emotional, spiritual, and economic well-being of our nation's military", "idyllic and historic acres", "a true Warrior's paradise". That's from a single paragraph. The rest is no better. If it wasn't your intent to advertise when you wrote that, your conflict of interest is far too strong to write neutrally about the topic. In fact, your unblock request itself is blatantly promotional. Despite your claim that you understand what you were blocked for and will not do it again, you have done it again with that same edit. Thus you will not be unblocked. Huon (talk) 01:12, 20 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
