Introduction to contentious topics edit

You have recently been editing gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, which has been designated a contentious topic. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Disambiguation link notification for March 7 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 6:6:6, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Merrick. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

March 2023 edit

  Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Tunisia into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Galobtter (pingó mió) 07:00, 14 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Born25121642, that's very good for the Talk page, and it helps editors, so thanks for that, and good job formatting the {{copied}} template, which isn't always that simple, especially for new editors. On the other hand, it isn't sufficient, because Wikipedia's WP:Terms of use require something in the edit summary that mentions, and links, to the original article where you copied the material from. Since you missed that the first time around when you copied it, you'll have to do it retrospectively. Have a look at Repairing insufficient attribution, and see if that makes sense to you. If not, you can ask for further help at Wikipedia:Help desk, or you can {{reply}} below and ask me, or you can contact me at my Talk page (about this, or anything else). Welcome to Wikipedia, and I hope you stick around! Cheers, Mathglot (talk) 08:41, 14 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
ok I think I did it. Born25121642 (talk) 09:48, 14 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
You did it just fine. This is something that can trip up editors with much more experience than you, and you did it just right. I think you have every potential to be a really good editor, here, and I look forward to your contributions, and your progress. Feel free to contact me on my Talk page about anything, any time, if you feel stuck, or just have a question. Cheers, Mathglot (talk) 11:06, 14 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hintersee (Ramsauer Ache) moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Hintersee (Ramsauer Ache), is not suitable as written to remain published. While it appears to be notable, it needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. There are large sections which are wholly uncited. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. I did this rather than removing the uncited material in the article, which I felt would be more disruptive. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask on my talk page. When you have the required sourcing (and every assertion needs a source), and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Or feel free to ping me to take another look.Onel5969 TT me 12:09, 17 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Hintersee (Ramsauer Ache) edit

Hello Born25121642,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Hintersee (Ramsauer Ache) for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.

If you don't want Hintersee (Ramsauer Ache) to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Charles Edacheril moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Charles Edacheril, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 12:07, 19 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Mike the Headless Chicken edit

Hello, I was looking at the page for Mike the Headless Chicken, and I was wondering why the Cruelty to Animals category was listed. I checked the history and you added it in this edit. Is there a reason you did this? I don't see how this is cruelty to animals, outside of the fact he was decapitated so he could be eaten. I can do stuff! (talk) 05:47, 8 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
