File copyright problem with File:Shakira-Rolling-Stone-April-2002.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Shakira-Rolling-Stone-April-2002.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. — neuro(talk)(review) 14:58, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

File:Shakira-Rolling-Stone-April-2002-issue.jpg edit

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Shakira-Rolling-Stone-April-2002-issue.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because images on Wikipedia need to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License or another free license, which allow anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file, please understand that the vast majority of images found on the internet are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Most content on the internet is copyrighted and the creator of the image has exclusive rights to use it. Wikipedia respects the copyrights of others - do not upload images that violate others' copyrights. In certain limited cases, we may be able to use an image under a claim of fair use - if you are certain that fair use would apply here, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list. If no fair use rationale applies, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Fastily (talk) 03:32, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Shakira-Rolling-Stone-April-2002-issue.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Shakira-Rolling-Stone-April-2002-issue.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:50, 8 April 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Radiant chains (talk) 03:50, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use Image:Shakira playing Don't Bother during Oral Fixation Tour.jpg edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Shakira playing Don't Bother during Oral Fixation Tour.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 15:47, 21 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits at List of best-selling music artists edit

Your recent edit has been reverted due to the unreliability of the source. This source had already been removed once before when you added Alanis Morissette[3] to the list on April 12, 2009. I have clearly explained in the edit-history the reason of the removal. Either you have failed to go back to the edit-history to see why your edit had been reverted or knowingly you added it again hoping that it may have gone unnoticed this time around which makes you a vandal.

Please discuss the reliability of the sources that you would like to submit at the talk page first. Regards.--Harout72 (talk) 18:49, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits to List of best-selling music artists edit

All your recent edits to [List of best-selling music artists] have been reverted. First, do you mind explaining why you removed this artist from the page twice [4], [5] within a period of two weeks.

Second, please explain why you added Green Day to the page with a source that you had already presented within the discussion of Green Day.--Harout72 (talk) 15:30, 11 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:ShakiraRollingStoneCover.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:ShakiraRollingStoneCover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 17:21, 13 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

June 2012 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I have noticed that some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to MTV Unplugged (Shakira album), have conflicted with our neutral point of view and verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you to seek consensus for certain edits. Thank you.  -- WikHead (talk) 16:32, 16 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Beyoncé edit

Hello, I have reverted your edits to Beyoncé as you are providing unreliable sources (thatgrapejuice and WikiAnswers). In this section, we list Beyoncé's major influences, which Shakira is not—please note there is a difference in liking an artist (i.e. admiring them and/or their music) and being influenced by them. Thanks. —JennKR | 17:07, 25 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

I actually said the opposite if you read closely: admiring someone is different to being influenced by them. It is true that Beyoncé probably likes Shakira, and for the "Beautiful Liar" video, she taught her choreography, but Beyoncé has never attributed any part of her career to have been influenced by Shakira. —JennKR | 17:24, 25 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
Obviously I got your point, there is surely an article describing the musical and dancing influence. and I again will repeat, in this context, she liked and been influenced.Borkan85 17:30, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
Until Beyoncé says explicitly that one of the major influences at some point in her career is/was Shakira, then it can not be included as it constitutes original synthesis. —JennKR | 17:32, 25 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
I am not discussing Wikipedia rules, and you are also not 100% sure if there are no articles containing this fact. Borkan85 18:07, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for March 27 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kate Bush, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Robert Smith (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Not from the side of hate edit

I'm not from the side of hate. You're from a fan-dictated said, by saying the photo is "unpleasant". It doesn't matter about a photo being pleasant or flattering, it's about what Encyclopedically acceptable. If a newer image is available, it should be used, not pushed aside for a dated image. If I were a hater, I'd completely delete the page, etc. I'm far from a hater. But even those type of comments go against assuming good faith of an editor, and are very biased. livelikemusic my talk page! 00:07, 12 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
