The article Trevor Tao has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Pirate Master edit

A tag has been placed on Pirate Master, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - Zeibura S. Your articles edit

Hi there, I've noticed lots of your articles are beind speedy deleted. This is because many of them contain very little or no content/context. Basically, compare these two "stubs":

  1. Sidney Patrick Crosby is a hockey player
  2. Sidney Patrick Crosby (born August 7, 1987) is a professional ice hockey player for the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins. He was the first pick of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft and one of the leading scorers during the 2005-06 NHL season, finishing 6th in scoring with 102 points (39 G, 63 A).[1]

As an administrator, I would speedy delete the first one because it offers no context, no assertion of notability, no sources and no information. However, if I ran into the second one, I would not speedy delete it because it clearly states the person's importance, gives context, and provides a source for the information.

I hope this helps you with your articles. --Wafulz 00:33, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
