Speedy deletion nomination of User:Borderless Access edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Borderless Access, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — O Fortuna semper crescis, aut decrescis 11:16, 19 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

April 2017 edit

There have been two problems identified with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:01, 19 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello Jim

I would like to continue with the same page, by changing the User Name to Vinod as I was not completely aware of the policy. Hope you understand and unblock the page Borderless Access (talk) 12:23, 19 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello Borderless Access. Thanks for the email- it's better, in the interests of transparency that we keep all communications on-wiki, I think. The problem is not just that your username violates our policy against promotional usernames (see WP:ORGNAME for more info), but that the edits you made under that name were solely promoting a business. So even if you did sort out the issue of your name (which can be done- see WP:CHUN), you would not be able to just 'continue with the same page,' as that was problematic to begin with. This is the relevant guideline to follow, as to what we do not have on our pages. The blocking / deleting admnistrator, Jimfbleak will explain it better than me though, as I can no longer see the piece. — O Fortuna semper crescis, aut decrescis 12:40, 19 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello Fortuna,

Would definitely redefine the content and I will make sure it does not looke like promoting the page or using it for marketing purpose. Solely, request you to revoke the block and allow to make the changes.

Hello Fortuna & Jim,

Request you to unblock the page as I would be doing changes per the policy.
