Thanks for the message - i will translate the bibliography section in the next hours and days ! Pinus pinea 10:02, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Hallo Bobet - i have tried to improve the stub/articel about Dieter Anhuf. I hope that it is good enough to survive. Pinus pinea 13:21, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Girlpilot

It's obviously your prerogative to accept or decline a CSD nomination, I'm curious why you changed my CSD tagging of Girlpilot to a WP:PROD? Was there notability I missed? They seem to be an unsigned band working on their demo. Myspace has the same info on them, and their webpage isn't functional, so I doubt they've made much progress towards notability since te article was written. Given the text of your prod, it seems to be playing at the same venue as notable bands. While they did perform at the TGIO, they did so on the "Myspace" stage, where the criteria to be there seems to be non-notability (unsigned, no band management; I had included a link here to the criteria, but it hit the spam blacklist). I'm not that upset about the switch to prod, as I think it'll end up at the same place, but I've been trying to be careful not to speedy tag articles that have even a minor assertion of notability, and was curious what, if anything, I missed. Thanks for your work for Wikipedia! - Fordan (talk) 12:38, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Sara Von Gillern

I'm new to this, so forgive me if I'm going about this wrong. I was just curious as to why my article on Sara Von Gillern was deleted, and why it has been deleted in the past? She is a contestant on So You Think You Can Dance, and while notability in this case is somewhat subjective, there are 14 other contestants on the show with Wikipedia entries. I don't quite understand why there continues being an issue with the creation of a page for this one contestant, when there are so many others who are in the same situation. Thanks! - Bfan23 on August 18, 2007

German municipalities

I've added info boxes to all the new ones - god I'm a great wikipedian. I've set up all the French communes today by department ready for getting them all onto wikipedia too. And I'm drawing up a List of American films etc etc. I am the best! (sorry rare moment of big headedness!!) ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:36, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kuririn

Would you mind explaining your rationale for keeping? i (talk) 00:02, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

I disagree. An article lacking sources and having no reliable sources provided in an AfD is a reason to delete. The first two keep comments even suggested redirecting and merging as an alternative. The third was an un-backed claim of notability. Fourth was a keep only because AfD isn't an avenue for cleaning up pages; the only one to support the rationale you gave me. The fifth was a claim of tons of sources, but no reliabe ones were given (the first he gave at the was about anime in general, and only named the character, the second was a forum). As you can tell, I don't believe the sixth was based on policy either; read my discussion for why. There were also notability issues. Soleil (formerly I) 01:17, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
I intend to take the issue to deletion review. However, you are (apparently) not actively on, so I'll wait for you to edit again and have a chance to respond before going there. I (talk) 00:45, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
I have listed it. I (talk) 22:10, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Per your rationale for closing the above AfD as merge, I have merged information from David Pearce (Australian soldier), Matthew Locke (Australian soldier), and Andrew Russell (Australian soldier) into Operation Slipper. If the merge is satisfactory, please feel free to proceed with the deletion (and, presumably, a redirect?) of the David Pearce article. I presume that the Locke and Russell articles would also be deleted, and have merged that information as well. Best, ZZ Claims ~ Evidence 20:55, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for taking care of these. Since there was an AfD (and, briefly, a DRV), I didn't know if the closing admin needed to take some sort of official action to put it to bed. Guess that takes care of that - and, you're right, the merged version does work better. Good call. ZZ Claims ~ Evidence 13:27, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Jean Mohr?

Hi, I was looking for an article on Jean Mohr, and to my astonishment, I noticed that on 7 November 2006 you had deleted one apparently based on A7. I looked through your contribs. but couldn't find any discussion of this. So, I'm writing to discuss reconsideration with you - I can't imagine why anyone would have deleted the entry of this important documentary photographer (even a rudimentary google search would turn up more than 10,000 hits pertaining to him, he has at least 4 major books of photography published and work in the Metropolitan Museum of Art). So what's up with this? Bruxism (talk) 09:44, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the clarification. Will work on it - in the New Year. Have a Happy one. Bruxism (talk) 04:49, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Little context in Portal:Film/Selected picture June 2007

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Portal:Film/Selected picture June 2007, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Portal:Film/Selected picture June 2007 is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Portal:Film/Selected picture June 2007, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. wp:film/dyk

Thanks for the heads up! It will be a pain to go through and find the archives for those, because I'm in the habit of linking to them to show when they appeared on the Main Page, but I will get to it. Cirt (talk) 20:12, 26 December 2007 (UTC).

  • Actually, looking through "Recent Additions", looks like there's tons more DYK hooks that could be used, just by searching for hooks with the word "film" in them. I'll get to adding more soon, but I think randomly selecting from (20) at the time being provides for good variety and makes the portal pretty dynamic. Cirt (talk) 20:14, 26 December 2007 (UTC).

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Miracle DVD cover.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Miracle DVD cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Quentin X (talk) 10:29, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Comment about Cprice's Checkuser

Hi there, thanks for your comment at Cprice's checkuser, as I responded there,

I agree that this may just be a new user that is slightly confused, but what I don't get is why even when the speedy was contested and odds are it was going to be declined by an admin did the user create and use Canadiana2008 as well as their IP to keep removing the tag and blanking the page? Your accusations

Enough is enough. You have wrongly accused me of creating sock puppetry – and block the innocent user Bondkaka based on his DYK-nominations, spreading false accusations that I created user Bondkaka for my own benefit. If you don't unblock user Bondkaka immediately, I will seriously consider leaving this project. --Camptown (talk) 21:05, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Did you know...

  • ...that in their first ever edit in English Wikipedia, both Bondkaka and Camptown coincidentally nominated an article by Odengatan (talk · contribs · logs) for DYK a few weeks apart in June 2006? --74.13.124.160 (talk) 07:04, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Ya I noticed stuff connecting them to Odengatan, but there wasn't really enough there to warrant a block, since I didn't see a similar pattern of advocacy (using more than one account is fine by itself, nominating things made by a sockpuppeteer on t:tdyk seems weird and pointless, but not very serious as far as problems go). Based on his comment above, the whole thing could be a self-correcting problem though. - Bobet 12:26, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

For what it's worth, I've found your comments useful on t:tdyk, and in this case wouldn't have noticed the error if you hadn't pointed it out (to answer the section heading). I never thought it would make it to t:dyk/n since it was clearly mentioned on the suggestions page, I guess it would've needed one of those nifty icons next to the comment (and I really don't understand the thought process behind the revert you linked). And yes, I realize some people overlook comments if there's an ip address next to them, but I still think the majority of the people appreciate them. - Bobet 00:20, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
