Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Boazraviv. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page User:Boazraviv/Shmuel Raviv, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. It would appear that you have written about your father, in which case you must declare your conflict of interest (COI). Thank you. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:23, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Advice

edit

Hello,

Firstly, thank you for declaring your COI; appreciated.

I noticed that you've added several references to User:Boazraviv/Shmuel Raviv, to support the statement about patents held. While this is laudable, it does nothing to address the reasons why I had to decline this draft. What we need to see are sources that demonstrate that the subject is notable in Wikipedia terms. This can be done in one of two ways:

  1. Either, per WP:GNG, you cite multiple independent and reliable secondary sources which provide significant coverage of the subject;
  2. Or, per WP:NACADEMIC, you show that the subject meets one of the eight criteria listed there, along with reliable evidence which clearly supports such an assertion.

Please note that without satisfying either of these notability standards, this draft cannot be accepted for publication; therefore this should be your primary objective at this time.

We also need every material statement and anything potentially contentious to be supported by a reliable source. Currently much of the 'Biography' section is unreferenced, as is the entire 'Personal life' one. I appreciate that you have a connection with the subject and you may well know this information to be correct, but we can only accept content which can be verified from reliable published sources.

Thank you so much for your advice. for the moment, I have add 2 articles; a very detail one that was appeared in the official bulletin of the Chief Science the state of Israel and a second in the NY time journal. I will keep looking for scientific journals were he used to published his research results. BR Boazraviv (talk) 13:23, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Shmuel Raviv, from its old location at User:Boazraviv/Shmuel Raviv. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. - RichT|C|E-Mail 19:45, 29 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
