List of current UFC fighters

edit
  • While I realize this process may seem somewhat confusing. Please refrain from removing fighters from the Recent Signings and/or the recent cuts list until at least one month after the fighter has signed. Each fighter on these lists has a date next to their name in the coding, after which they may be deleted. For Clifford Starks, for instance, that date is November 21, as he was signed on October 21. I realize that this list may appear to be only a list of fighters who have not fought yet in the UFC, but it's key aspect is fighters who have recently signed, so until one month has passed since a fighters signing he should not be removed, whether he has actually fought in the UFC in that time or not. Thaddeus Venture (talk) 23:46, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • JSYK, I won't stand in the way of your name editing in terms of things like BJ to B.J., etc. However it is the standard format of this article that all fighter names reflect those posted of UFC.com. I personally am willing to be slightly flexible on this, at least up until the point of actually changing peoples names (Cheick Kongo to Cheick Ouidraogo, etc.), however others may feel that a much harder line should be taken. If these changes turn into an edit war, I would fall on the side of going with UFC.com as that is the backbone of how names are referenced for this article. This is just a heads up in the hopes of avoiding arguments further down the line. Otherwise thanks a ton for your help and interest. Thaddeus Venture (talk) 15:39, 13 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Because fighters are listed by their "UFC Names" (i.e. the names listed on the ufc.com website), some fighters are listed by common nicknames rather than their birth names. In these cases those common nicknames are also listed under the nickname column as well to clearly display that this is a nickname rather than their birth name. In the case of a TJ Waldburger, he has actually been previously introduced as Anthony "TJ" Waldburger. In this case TJ probably stands for Tony Jr. but since we don't know it's listed as a nickname as well as his UFC Name.Thaddeus Venture (talk) 15:49, 24 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Please stop removing the reference for John Cofer. As a non-finalist TUF fighter who lost his first UFC bout he was considered cut even though he remained on UFC.com. The UFC almost always cuts losing TUF fighters, and almost always leaves their profiles up for months. As he has been retained it is worth referencing that he is actually still a part of the UFC. The reference attached to him should remain until his next fight as a verification that he is still signed.Thaddeus Venture (talk) 16:15, 7 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

LHW Chael Sonnen

You keep changing this, but don't leave an edit summary. You do realize he hasn't competed at LHW yet, right? And that you have no source for the 205 lb claim? At his last verifiable weigh-in, he was 185.5. And competed in a Middleweight title fight. We have no idea if the fight with Jones will even actually happen, or if he comes in heavy and it ends up a catchweight. Wikipedia can't just guess at this future stuff. But we can mention the scheduled fight, like we do. InedibleHulk (talk) 23:38, 18 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

If MtKing tries to remove all the flags off your page again, and use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:MMA#RFC_on_WP:MMA.27s_use_of_Flag_Icons_in_relation_to_MOS:FLAG as a justification, it's safe to revert it, as that only applies to results tables, which the List of current UFC fighters page doesnt have. A tag has been placed on Dustin Kimura requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. smileguy91talk 18:42, 1 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Grudge Training Center, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Bellator and WSOF (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to T.J. Dillashaw may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
