Hehe, you've clearly put a lot of work into those articles, but I'm afraid Slovakia and Tibetan monasteries aren't subjects I'm very knowledgable about! The quality of the articles and diversity however, show that you clearly deserved the barnstar! CelebHeights 14:51, 1 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Taisto Reimaluoto edit

Funny that you started an article on him tonight as I was going to write an article about the movie Rukanjärven tie tonight and he is in it! If you are good at creating redirects, you might want to redirect Ambush to Rukanjärven tie as that is just its name when it was released internationally. A good movie to see by the way, stunning shots of upper central Finland. Probably the best bet would be to create stubs or articles for most of the actors in that movie as most of them have gone on to star in other movies (e.g., Tommi Eronen, who is currently staring in Jadesoturi (Jade Warrior). I'll take a look at the other ones later on this week. And I've never heard of Aapo strangely enough! -Yupik 20:06, 31 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Pretty ironic, isn't it? I always try to create articles about the area in and around Puolanka, which is absolutely stunning. Too bad I don't live up there! -Yupik 20:12, 31 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
And that would be Rukajärven tie; no idea why I put an extra -n in those links. -Yupik 20:13, 31 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:1997haze2.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Danish participants at the Olympics edit

Greetings Ernst Stavro Blofeld (does Bond know you're here?)

I just came across a few misspelled articles about Danish athletes. I'm not sure which source you were using, but it had some of its spellings wrong. E.g. the name of the article about Søren Petersen contained two spelling mistakes and one article labelled him as Norwegian (he was Danish). The article about Frank Foss (athlete) mentioned Henry Petersen as American and with a misspelled name. He was Danish as well and already had an article under the correct name. I have fixed the two articles, but if you plan to write more articles about Olympic medalists, may I recommend the official webpage as a pretty good source? This database seems mostly ok, but - unfortunately - it too has some problems with Scandinavian names, since it incorrectly uses the Swedish alphabet for Danes and Norwegians.

I'm quite aware that Scandinavian names can be pretty odd for foreigners, particularly since our languages have many similarities and rather subtle differences. If you run into more examples about Danes, Norwegians or Swedes, feel free to contact me with a list of names, and I'll be glad to check them. E.g. it might not be completely obvious for non-Scandinavians that Danes and Norwegians use the letters Æ/æ, Ø/ø and Å/å and have names ending in "-sen"; Swedes use Ä/ä, Ö/ö and Å/å and have names ending in "-son". Fair use rationale for Image:Suzani.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Suzani.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

About Wikipedia edit

You are absolutely right. Wikipedia is now the fifteenth most visited website on the internet. I don't know why it is not the first instead of Yahoo. Just imagine all the human knowledge becomes free:millions of articles about every film and town and scientific theory. I found information on Wikipedia that I didn't find on any other website. I can't wait until the database is available for download.

By the way, if you wanted to know anything about Egypt, ask me.

Hi,

Yup, I can keep adding the motorcycle racing history pages. Part of my main motivation is that it seems unfair that sports like Formula One have their entire histories documented on Wikipedia when motorcycle racing has hardly anything here. Readro 22:01, 6 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

No problem, I have noticed many of your articles while new page patrolling, and I can understand your rationale for making this one. I think I am one of the only people to do new page patrolling on older articles (12 to 24 hours old), and it's quite amazing (and frightening) how much rubbish, nonsense, non notable, and even attack pages you still encounter. As I don't see all pages by far, I fear that Wikipedia is full of such articles, and that many thousands of articles could be deleted without any problem. Luckily, yours are not amon,g those! I'm really not that interested in Finnish cinema. Yes, I've done a few stub-articles for some Spede films, but only because I felt that somebody had to (they are quite significant to the development of Finnish sketch-humour), and in all I'm only really interested in the more bizarre stuff (like Star Wreck) and don't regularly watch Finnish films (the latest I've seen must have been Kummeli: Kultakuume). Image:Stendardo.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Stendardo.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

 1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add Replaceable fair use disputed, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
 2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. The other part are like black Africa because the people don´t have money, and they are often black and indigenous persons. Hi Ernst! I often write about plants, specially native from Brazil, but not ony about Brazilian plants. You can help me to write about Vegetation of Brazil. There are a some articles about it which needs linking, for example: Amazon Rainforest, Atlantic Forest, Atlantic Coast restingas, Caatinga, Cerrado, Pantanal, Geography of Brazil, Flora Brasiliensis, and Environment of Brazil. The Cerrado, Caatinga, Environment of Brazil, and Flora Brasiliensis need expansion and clean up. Now, I just write easy stubs about Fiat because I tired, and I want waste time. Slovak municipalities edit

Hi Ernst! Thank you for your post on my talk page. Yes, I can help with this, but I'm not so quick as you are. By the way, I've just finished with creating article for last missing Slovak town. MarkBA 12:35, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Ernst, I have created Benkovce article. Check it if I got it right, I must go on a lunch break. MarkBA 13:06, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm back from break, well, you ask me where do I live? It's on my page but I'll tell you: I'm from Bratislava, city part Vrakuňa, but I used to live in Petržalka. And you ask for photos? Hmm, maybe I can do some photos, but I don't know when. MarkBA 13:49, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Phew! Finally, last municipality in the Vranov nad Topľou District done. I see you are almost done in Prešov District. So I'll have a short break before you're finished with yours. MarkBA 16:21, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Ernst, I'm still undone with Svidník District, but I can't continue because it's too late. 13 municipalities need to be created. MarkBA 23:03, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

I have just finished with the Sabinov District and I'm going to do the Stropkov District. And, just one off-topic question: Why did you chose Slovak municipalities, to create an article for each of them? MarkBA 10:55, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

I have just finished Stropkov District. Now I'll have a break from this, I'll do Stará Ľubovňa District later. MarkBA 12:05, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

OK, I'm back from break. Now I'll start Stará Ľubovňa District from the upper end (that means from Č). MarkBA 13:08, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, I finished Stará Ľubovna District, Ilava District, and Myjava District. Now I'll have a short break. MarkBA 15:01, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Ernst, I understand that the Trenčín District needs to be completed, but if you could do it with me, it will be done much faster. I have an idea: you'll start from Zamarovce and all the way up and I'll start from the letter D. MarkBA 21:17, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

I did the same. I told him that we are doing right thing and we must do this. And I agree, we're just wasting our time, I better go finishing Hlohovec District. MarkBA 15:20, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Oh, I see. So it is my fault for not adding this or not? By the way I'm just about finishing Piešťany District. MarkBA 16:02, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Ernst, I'll have around 30 - 45 min. break. See you later. MarkBA 17:17, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Ernst, I've just looked through the last 6 districts (I've done first four), and I'm not sure if I can finish them today. MarkBA 20:02, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey, that User:Gene Nygaard just suggested an idea: changing the word altitude, which we use, to elevation. I just red both of these and I must agree with him this time, the word elevation fits better. What do you think? Anyway, I'm done for today, I'll continue tomorrow around 2.15 pm. See ya later. Hi' I'm back and ready to continue. I'll finish now the Žilina District. MarkBA 13:31, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, I'm barely interested at film. And if you ask me if I could help with municipalities in Hungary, well, I must think about it, I feel I need a short wikibreak. But either way, I'm glad that we've done this. See you later and all the best. MarkBA 18:20, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

It is far less likely that somebody will upload a free image as long as that fair-use image is there. There are plenty of people taking freely-licensed photos in Finland, but that's not the only way to obtain one, either; somebody could write him and ask him to release this or another photo under the GFDL or similar. —Chowbok 21:05, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Current Wikipedia policy is that it is better to have no image than a fair use one (unless there's a good reason to think we'll never have a freely-licensed one, which isn't the case here). —Chowbok 21:11, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Trust me... I've replaced many promo photos with freely-licensed ones, and I can't begin to tell you how much crap I get. A Wikipedia editor with a thinner skin and/or less appetitite for conflict would soon give up. It's ridiculous how many promotional images we have of politicians; I've yet to meet a single politician who wouldn't do whatever it took to get his image out there. I'm sure 99% of them would agree to release an image under the GFDL. Don't worry, I'm also tagging every politician promo photo I can find. —Chowbok 21:18, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I appreciate your concerns, but I believe very strongly that I am concentrating on improving Wikipedia. For me, as well as for the founding members of Wikipedia including Jimbo, a crucial part of this project is that it be freely redistributable by anybody for any reason. The GFDL isn't an afterthought, it's the second most important principle we have. By working to get us closer to being freely reproduceable, I'm devoting a good bit of my energy towards that principle. I realize that Wikipedia means different things to different people, and I don't expect to be able to convince you of the importance of this, but please accept that I feel I'm doing important work and I find it much more rewarding than simply giving in to the bulk of annoyed editors. —Chowbok 21:37, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Stop adding articles until you fix sort keys edit

I'm going to ask nicely this time around. Will you and User:MarkBA (talk) please stop your coordinated, headlong rush to add new stubs, immediately. Then go back and fix all of them you have added which are improperly sorted in their categories, by adding the proper sort key in accordance with Wikipedia:Categorization and Wikipedia:Naming conventions (standard letters with diacritics) and various other pages spread out throughout the Wikipedia namespace. Don't forget to fix the categories you have added, so that they sort properly in their parent categories. Then you can resume the adding of new stubs. Gene Nygaard 15:01, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

No, they are not categorized properly. A huge number of them are missorted in their categories. You didn't even bother to read the relevant guidelines at Wikipedia:Categorization, did you.
BTW, split up discussions are a pet peeve of mine. Can we continue this in one place, either here or at my talk page? Gene Nygaard 15:37, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hungary edit

Hi again. I don't understand Hungarian but I think it will be Összesen, Népsűrűség means population density and Terület is an area (but you know that, do you?). I also tried the first village, see Vaskút. And to those templates, yes, they are a real mess, I think it will need alphabetizing or however you say that. Oh, and to that finishing with the Slovak villages (oof!) and congratulating, I can say Ďakujem (Slovak for 'Thank you').MarkBA 19:34, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

OK, I have seen Ágasegyháza, and I think that as a provisional solution is OK, just maybe a map could be added, showing where approximately the village is. MarkBA 20:11, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Oh, I almost forgot, I'm off for 20 - 30 minutes. Hope you don't mind.MarkBA 20:13, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

OK, I finished Csongrád county, so the entire Southern Great Plain region is done. Yes, that looks horrific in the Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg, only 6 out of around 20 towns plus around 10 villages... it looks like that Csongrád or Békés were just warm-up rounds. MarkBA 22:02, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Ernst, can you help me? I'm right now flaming with that User:Gene Nygaard and he is really nasty this time.MarkBA 09:49, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ernst, I wanted to tell you the problem with that infobox but I see you already know it, so we can only discuss about it. You see, we can't simply remove it and leave articles without info. I have only one idea, but it's very simple one: replace it with (wiki)table, but I don't know if this is good idea and you told me that I shouldn't create more village articles until can we resolve this. I don't have problem with this, because you said at the beginning that we can do Hungary at slower rate than Slovakia. MarkBA 16:48, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

That's good, but I don't know if this is fully fixed. I still see a lot of mess in the main category. As I know, we use HungaryCities2 template, although we used HungaryCities template earlier. Or I'm talking about something else? MarkBA 17:16, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Sorry that I'm slowly responding, yes, it looks emptier, but you know, I'm quite confused today and sometimes I don't know what's all the fuss about. Can you explain me this hubbub with categories and templates once again? MarkBA 18:21, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Oof, finally thank you for telling me that the problem is solved. But I think I must have at least 2 hours or so break from this. It has been a real mess today. MarkBA 18:51, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

OK, I'm finished for today, yeah, that one which I'm going to do next seems a lot easier than that nasty big one. MarkBA 23:01, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi, sorry that I've been quiet for 2 days, but I felt that we need to cool down those skirmishes with Nygaard. Yes, I'm still with you, why I should leave? We hadn't any serious argues so far, so there's no reason to stop our coordination. Yes, I'm still working on Hungary, adding few villages now and then, but I'm doing also other topics. Beside motorways, I'm trying to do some articles from Burma, but... this is going to be hard, I haven't found almost anything so far. MarkBA 19:23, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi, sorry that it's off-topic, but I have just completed those missing villages in Banská Bystrica District. And you say you want to leave from Wikipedia? (sorry, but I overlooked it). You mean for good or for some time? MarkBA 22:22, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Ernst, I've just looked at Geography of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg (and History, too) and I can say that's quite fine piece of work. Just maybe you could add some external links, but that's minor detail. MarkBA 17:02, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Oh my God! Looks like that I got it right when I said that the Bács-Kiskun or Békés counties were just warm-up rounds. First Szabolcs, then Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, what next? The only good point is, that this is a good practice for my FCE exam, which I'll have in two weeks time.MarkBA 18:33, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I decided that I should take a break from Wikipedia too, so I'll erase from my memory that nasty business with Nygaard. Anyway, I'm currently doing an FCE test (that is, ESOL exams). I've just done the Speaking part (one of 5 parts), and I think I scored around 15 from 20 points (I need 60/100 to pass the whole test) and I'll be doing the rest of the parts next weekend. That article I'll be doing tomorrow, because I'm too tired to do this, maybe after I'll create it, you could check spelling and that kind of stuff, because although I'm quite advanced in my English, errors may still occur. Slovakia again edit

I have been closely observing your impressive work, adding or correcting some information from time to time. I have also created a couple of articles about municipalities in those districts, which have not been covered by you and your team until recently. I would like to thank you for your effort. I certainly did not expect such a diligence and I would love to give you a Barnstar. But you have already obtained one for Slovakia:-) Forget about the minor problems with indexing and wrong categories (only in the oldest articles - I have already fixed most of it). You did great job and I will try to fix those few errors remaining in the articles. Good luck with other states and happy editing! Tankred 06:03, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Mezokovacshaza arms.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Mezokovacshaza arms.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:08, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Alive but busy beyond belief edit

Hi! I'm alive but swamped with work and school right now. Should calm down sometime in December at the latest. All the time I've spent on wikipedia lately has been looking up things for work :/ Or trying to keep the backlog from reappearing on the translation pages. How're the Finnish articles coming along? I was added things to the Finnish Wikipedia before work tsunamied my life, but hopefully will be able to get back to creating articles on this Wikipedia, that one, the Swedish one and the Sámi one! -Yupik 11:59, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Templates edit

Sure, just tell me which ones... your contrib list is a bit too long to browse through :)

On a side note, the List of cities, towns, and villages in Bács-Kiskun county article was deleted a few weeks ago because I had prod-ded it upon a request on the Hungarian noticeboard, since the info in there is already duplicated in both Bács-Kiskun and . If you agree, you could maybe put db-author on it to spare effort.

Happy editing, KissL 16:22, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

What is needed to get your attention? edit

Why in the world are you still adding cetegories without sorting them properly, as in these edits? [1] [2] [3]

Have you done anything at all to fix all the ones you messed up before? Your "two minutes" promised fixes? This is serious, a gross breach of proper Wikipedia conduct. Gene Nygaard 04:14, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

My two cents edit

It seems that you got Nygaard's point about indexing. Good. I forget that sometimes myself.

As for the category Cities, towns and villages in Hungary it seems absurd to fill it. Subcategories are better. But IMO there should be different categories for cities and towns and on the other hand villages. Punkmorten 13:16, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I see you have unearthed and removed the problem in the infoboxes. I notice that Category:Cities, towns and villages in Hungary has shrunk already. The next task will be to empty it, yes? Punkmorten 19:04, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hungary category edit

Ernst wrote: I see you are saying that they are in the wrong categories. Think of it like this. There are thousands of villages in Hungary. Every city, town and village in hungary should NOT go in one category it would be ridiculously over bloated and would be on many many pages.

Now, read my lips: I did not add Category:Cities, towns and villages in Hungary to anything. MarkBA did that.

All I did was to fix it so that it sorted properly; the category was already there. You can see this if you go and look at the difference here for my change at Csanádpalota. Yes, I did add the text in my edit. But just click on the link for "Older edit" and look down at the bottom of the page. In the list of categories, you can still see "Categories: Cities, towns and villages in Hungary". That's because the category had already been added by MarkBA when he created the article. It just hadn't been added visibly; it had been sneaked in there by one of the templates he used. Do I need to go out and find that template for you as well, to show you where that template added this category? Or can you figure that out for yourself? Gene Nygaard 15:13, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

If that isn't clear enough to you, you can also go look at Szegvár, where the only edit so far is MarkBA's creation of the article for this dorf. It is also in Category:Cities, towns and villages in Hungary, as you can see by looking at the bottom of the page, and neither I nor anyone else has touched it—only MarkBA has. Note also that this village also does not have the proper sort keys. Gene Nygaard 15:20, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mark and Ernst, you just are not making sense. I don't know what the problem is; maybe you both just need to get some sleep and start again fresh.

MarkBA has gone to the trouble of adding a sort key at Szegvár in this diff. Yet, even though I pointed out the need to do so, he failed to add . That might have been acceptable, had he first fixed the template so that it did not add this village to that category. But he did not do so.

Ernst: Why on earth is it automatically putting the villages in the main category? There is no way to index it then? How do you fix the template? A. Yes, you can still index it correctly. I showed how to do that, but he didn't listen. But I'm baffled trying to figure out why you are asking about this. Remember, you earlier said: See my correction and indexing of Füzesgyarmat. You managed to get it indexed in Category:Cities, towns and villages in Hungary, in this and the prior edits, didn't you?

Ernst: It is the template info box at the top right which is causing all the problems. It is this which automatically puts it into the other category. But if you remove that then you are taking away information. What do you suggest I do?

A: You edit the template, so it doesn't do that. The template's name is right there at the top of the infobox, you just need to go to Template:HungaryCities and Template:HungaryCities2 and whatever other templates you have lying around, and take out the part where it adds the category. Note that the effects of this will not show up immediately. If you go to an article right after changing the template, it might still have the category at the bottom. Given time, I think (but I'm not certain about that) Wikipedia is now refreshing these automatically so that they are fixed (in the past, it wasn't fixed until the article was edited as discussed next). You can also speed that up by doing a "null edit". This can be a completely null edit; it won't even show up in the edit history, as long as you don't make any changes at all. Just click on "edit this page" and then "save this page" and it should be updated to reflect the change in the template. Gene Nygaard 17:33, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've posted some more responses on my talk page. In addition, a suggestion. You still have lots to go, so why don't you enlist help from some of the other editors who have been messing it up as well. Getting them all fixed up will also make it easier for you to determine if your own additions have been fixed. For example, here are some Hungarian villages not edited by you or MarkBA:
 • Borsosberény, indexed as Horpács--really wrong, likely miscopied by the editor who did Horpács wrong as well
 • Horpács, specifically indexed with Horpács sort key--wrong as well, and as the result of a deliberate but incorrect edit
 • Tés, no sort key (wrong because default is "Tés", of course, in this case might be mere ignorance and carelessness)
Gene Nygaard 18:23, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ernst wrote: I have resumed my work on Category:Cities, towns and villages in Hajdú-Bihar county. It should be looking right.

Well, it probably was when you wrote that. But less than an hour later, MarkBA added one that messed it up again. Can't you get him to do it right the first time, too? Gene Nygaard 01:03, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry edit

I agree, I chose the wrong tag. In my mind I mixed up one of the things on the empty tag. Specifically, no encyclopedic content. The way article creating is supposed to go is

 1. The article is kept under user space until an article is created that has good content
 2. The article is moved out into mainstream space

Yes, you do need to find more content for the article, because at this point the article has almost no info. That is why I nominated it for deletion. Did I choose the wrong tag, yes, but the article still has almost no info. Please expand it quickly. -- THLCCD 11:50, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I figured that you knew what I was telling you about article creation; I just figured that I would say it for the somewhat dramatic effect. -- THLCCD 12:00, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Stop it, for whatever articles edit

Ernst, it isn't just towns in Hungary and towns in Slovakia that need indexing sort keys. Your just-created La Mariée also needs sort keys. Please stop creating articles without them.

I also note that you haven't gone back and fixed Category:Cities, towns and villages in Hajdú-Bihar county again—that's the category MarkBA had messed up already with one or more misindexed additions, less than an hour after you had bragged about having cleaned it up. Gene Nygaard 15:01, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm also developing a strong suspicion that the reason you didn't respond to my suggestion that you get some help from the others who have messed up this sorting is that there aren't any others—that those other user names are just prior user names used by one of you. Gene Nygaard 15:11, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please be civil, Ernst. (this edit)

Ernst: I have checked Category:Cities, towns and villages in Hajdú-Bihar county and they are all in alphabetical order.

I don't doubt you made an effort to check it. But the whole idea of going after the fact and trying to fix it is flawed in the first place, something you will have to keep repeating over and over again as MarkBA continues to mess it up after you have temporarily fixed the problem in some particular category.

But Category:Cities, towns and villages in Hajdú-Bihar county most definitely is not in correct alphabetical order, after this edit by User:MarkBA at 21:50 UTC 18 November 2006,[4] only about 18 hours ago. I don't see any of your tracks at the edit history of Váncsod. Gene Nygaard 16:05, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

And, like I said, it was a suspicion. The reason I put is out there was because you might have confirmed it. But since you say it wasn't you, that's good enough for now. Doesn't mean I won't continue to keep my eyes open, of course, but at least I don't have to actively look into it. The suspicion was triggered when I saw that it had been a few months since User:Peppe83 had created any of these articles or done any other editing. Gene Nygaard 16:20, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ernst:Well why the hell are you going on at me then? Clearly not my mistake Almost right and you act as if I have deleted all of wikipedia! For God's Sake just drop it will you. Your making wikipedia very miserable for me.

A: Because you voluntarily took it upon yourself to clean up after MarkBA.

 1. Because you promised me you would do this, saying it would only take "two minutes"
 2. Because you told User:MarkBA to stay the course, to keep adding them without fixing them, because you would clean up after him, using the same "two minutes" phrase.
 3. Because you had bragged about one particular category being fixed—but by the time I got there, within an hour of your posting a message on my talk page about it, it was not.
 4. Because you and MarkBA are a team, working together on the creation of these articles, with you doing part of the work and him another part, so it doesn't matter if your name didn't yet show up in the edit history.
So if you have changed your mind, and you go can tell MarkBA to clean up his act because you are no longer going to clean up after him, and you stop working with him in whatever you are doing to set these moves up for him, just let me know. If you do that, let him know and let me know so I can resume holding him primarily responsible for his future actions, and you for yours. You still owe it to both of us and to Wikipedia for already created articles, however. Gene Nygaard 23:33, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ernst (if that is your real name!), why should we not have an article on first secretary of the Communist Party of Tajikistan? - Francis Tyers · 11:37, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I made a redirect to First Secretary of the Communist Party of Tajikistan. - Francis Tyers · 11:39, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks :) I do play guitar. I'm generally into punk, metal and rock/post-rock. I don't get much time to play nowadays though :( When I have time, I generally either play acoustic stuff or progressive death metal (for example like Opeth). - Francis Tyers · 11:50, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Cool, I have only a couple of guitars (one acoustic and one rip-off Gibson Les Paul copy). One of my favourite possessions is my Selmer 100 watt valve head. - Francis Tyers · 11:52, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I have friends who are very into Steve Vai, Zakk Wylde, guitar wizards etc. Personally not my thing, you should check out Opeth if you get a chance. It is quite unlike the other bands you listed as death metal. There are some excellent riffs and solos -- some really complicated stuff, also worth checking out is Porcupine Tree, which is just progressive rock (so no death vocals) — it has one of the guys from Opeth in, and their manager. - Francis Tyers · 12:09, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Cool :) I've seen them a couple of times, once in London and once in Nottingham. - Francis Tyers · 12:14, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
To be honest, I'm ashamed to say I haven't heard much Def Leppard. They're part of the NWOBHM (I'm a fan of both Maiden and Black Sabbath) so probably worth checking out. If you could recommend one song, which would it be? - Francis Tyers · 12:20, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I've not seen the film, I probably should :) LOL Judas Priest. Man, "Painkiller" is such a good track. :)) - Francis Tyers · 12:27, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm currently half way between London and Loughborough (specifically Normanton-on-Soar). I spend my week in London (working) and my weekends in Loughborough with my parents. Commuting sucks, which is why I've got the "employ me!" note on my talk page ;) You're in Barry I see. I spent a lot of time in Wales (four years at UWA). - Francis Tyers · 12:31, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! Its great to find someone else interested in WP:CSB stuff :) - Francis Tyers · 12:54, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

The film looks good. I'm a fan of non-English language films, but I am fortunate to say that most of the ones I watch already have pages. I did create a page on a film, but I can't find where it is now :) - Francis Tyers · 13:24, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

If you addressed some of the citation issues, I think Potala Palace would make a great WP:GA, the same with Seven Years in Tibet too! - Francis Tyers · 15:42, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

You should certainly add citations, it won't get past WP:GA or WP:FA without it. It shouldn't be too hard though as I imagine much has been written about both films. - Francis Tyers · 16:46, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

About the Bács-Kiskun county template edit

Yeah, if you wanna put it in alphabetical order, that's fine. I didn't really have the time to do it, and I don't get along with computers very well either. Anyway, I saw that you did an awesome job on the whole county and finished all the little towns, too. Keep up your good work! (Edebundity 18:54, 24 November 2006 (UTC))Reply

Man, you sure aren't wasting time here. These Hungarian county templates just keep showing up all over! I already put some on the county main pages. I'm glad we have you here. I read some of your philosophy about completing all geographical data on cities, landscapes and stuff like that. It sounds like a goal to me. If you need some help, let me know. I can read Hungarian and German which is pretty important in Central Europe. Thanks again. (Edebundity 01:45, 25 November 2006 (UTC))Reply
I'm from Illinois, but I have family in Europe, too. I used to have a website that had all information about each city in Hungary. Area codes, population data, religious and ethnic make-up and stuff like that. Too bad, I deleted it a couple of month ago, but I think I would be able to find it again. If you want me to help you to translate stuff that's fine, I can do it pretty easily. Take care,

I got it already, but thanks. (Edebundity 17:38, 25 November 2006 (UTC))Reply
OK, I just got done. There wasn't too much info on their website. The whole history section just talked about schools, and summer camp. I guess, they're trying pretty hard to get some attention from tourists. I'm gonna copy-edit and spell check some articles, because most of our pages about foreign places are full of errors. (Edebundity 18:15, 25 November 2006 (UTC))Reply
Yeah, that is a monster template. We should seriously figure something out because this one is pretty huge. That is why we did not include a list of counties on the Texas template because it would look like this: click here. Instead, it looks like this:template. Like I said three paragraphs before, I am from Illinois. Also, I looked at the counties or regions in Slovakia and they have no info at all. Are you planning on putting stuff on the pages, or should it be left having a list only? Either way, let me know. (Edebundity 18:30, 25 November 2006 (UTC))Reply
Pretty nice. I like it.

Aren't you from Slovakia though? I saw some picture on your main page with a Slovakian flag in it. (Edebundity 19:00, 25 November 2006 (UTC))Reply

Oh, ok. I was even wondering about your English, too. That's cool. I never tried surfing, but used to watch Baywatch for a long time :) Anyway, my primary goal with Wikipedia is that every little town in Europe will have a nice, well-written article in English so that people from all over the wolrd can read it. Now, more then ever, this is coming to be reality, and we are pretty close. 1,500,000 acrticles completed yesterday: awesome. Good luck, (Edebundity 19:19, 25 November 2006 (UTC))Reply

Hint: If you begin the same process for Danish cinema, we already have an icon ready Image:Danishfilm.png :) Btw, if you haven't done so yet, it might be an idea to tell WP:WSS that you are creating new stub templates. Village edit

I saw that you created article about Kinkinda village in Serbia, but I cannot find confirmation in other sources that village with such name exist. Can you say where you found information about that village? - A happy girl -

Thank you edit

Thank you for your barnstar award, it means a lot to me. As to the red links, I'm working on it ha ha ... but it might take a bit longer Kurando | ^_^ 10:30, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Stubs edit

Hi Blofeld

I'm not very good with graphics but User:Pegship is very interested in films and she's created lots of icons, so why not ask her? I'm sure she'll be glad to help. Your idea about a template / category for articles about darts sounds like an interesting idea, but please propose new categories and templates on WP:WSS/P and wait for comments from others before you actually create them. Yes, this procedure is a bit cumbersome, but it seems to be the only way we can achieve some sort of naming consistency allowing editors to guess the names of related stub templates and avoid duplicate templates. Renaming / deleting templates and categories is incredibly timeconsuming, and this is the only reason WP:WSS has this procedure. You mention the problem with grouping some of the Finnish directors, and this is one of the reasons why it can be a good idea to get a little input from others. It often turns out that more than one editors is working on the same material. Pegship knows a lot more about film than I do, so I'll suggest you ask her.

Don't get me wrong. It's great that you show enthusiasm for creating articles, and I'm not trying to be a spoil sport. I'm simply trying to say that life gets a bit easier for those of us that mostly do cleanup work if we make sure things are ok from the start. For example, I am pretty sure the standard name for a stub template relating to players of darts, would have been Darts-bio-stub, in order to follow the naming system system used for all other sports. Some of the other regulars at WP:WSS know a lot more about that kind of material than me. Please think about proposing things first, ok? :) Happy editing. Valentinian (talk) / (contribs) 18:02, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

My apologies. I didn't mean to be rude and my post wasn't very accurate. What I was trying to say was that I couldn't imagine a lot of material that wouldn't be related to biographies of darts players. Now that I think again, I guess darts must have tournaments and organizations like other sports? In that case there probably could be a lot of material. I must admit I know next to nothing about this sport, and I am probably somewhat influenced by the fact that this sport has a very limited following in Denmark. I don't know how I managed to completely forget about the old British tradition for this sport (shakes head). Sorry again. :) Valentinian (talk) / (contribs) 00:55, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Finland edit

Hey. Yeah, I've noticed your work and you're doing, once again, an excellent job. I joined the WikiProject Finland when it was already pretty inactive, but with some promotion and work on the actual project page, I think it could easilly become very active. Some users just got Finnish Civil War promoted to FA-status, and I'm hoping to get Henri Toivonen (Finnish rally driver) the first featured article on rallying, so I think there are a lot of people who would be interested in joining, and lots of articles to work on. I'll try to help you out when I have time. By the way, I'm currently working on WikiProject World Rally and I remember you created at least Rauno Aaltonen, so you might want to check it out. :-) Prolog 18:27, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the compliments and for taking a look at it. It's completely written by me and unfortunately I'm not a native speaker of English. I agree with you, it currently lacks professional wording and contains too much of my Finglish, which I'll try to sort out little by little. I think Seven Years in Tibet looks great. It needs references and I think the headings need to be changed from = & == to == & === to meet Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings). Perhaps also more about the marketing and reception of the film? Thanks, Prolog 19:03, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for creating the stubs. I had not heard of Harry Källström before, but it appears he won the Acropolis Rally Greece in 1976, so I guess I should have. Anyway, I added some info to the article. I'll try to do the same to the rest later. I played V-Rally a lot too, although I had a Nintendo 64 instead of Playstation. I still drive a little Rally Trophy on PC (with wheel & pedals). Prolog 20:42, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, the stubs are good; factually correct, good-looking and asking for expanding. Prolog 20:55, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hey. Yeah, there will always be someone who disagree with an addition. Don't let that get you down and keep up the great work. I've started to expand Cinema of Finland greatly and there are a few redlinks at User:Prolog/Cinema of Finland, that you might be interested in turning into blue ones. I'm awfully busy with studies at the moment, but I hope I can help you out with Finnish films since I can use Finnish language sources. Thanks, Prolog 14:36, 30 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Tanzanian Politicians edit

Pleas correct your articles to Category:Tanzanian politicians and add a around it now. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 23:19, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry, I don't understand exactly what you are suggesting. Could you please amend the article for Anna Margareth Abdallah as an example, and then I will be happy to follow through for the rest of the MPs. Malangali 02:32, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Russia edit

I am planning it too. School is tough but goin' good though. - Darwinek 14:18, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:OlaviAhonen.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:OlaviAhonen.jpg.

Thank you.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright :questions. 17:08, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Finnish cinema project edit

Greetings! If you will take some kindly advice, I would suggest you don't take anyone's tags or edits personally. The user you mention may think the film is nn, but you can always do what you did - expand the article and remove the nn tag. I also suggest you don't bother arguing about it on a user's talk page, as frequently editors tag things and move on while working on other projects. You're doing a great job on the Finnish films & actors, so just keep working on it and don't let anyone else's views get you down. (P.S. Would you mind using the edit summaries, please? Even just a "added detail" note would be helpful.) Cheers, Her Pegship 17:34, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

No really, don't give up. Just ignore him. I tell my kids all the time that if they just ignore someone, they'll lose interest and go away. Just put a brief note on the article's talk page about why the film is notable, and go about your business. Come back tomorrow and remove the nn tag. Better yet, I'll do it right now. Hang in there! Her Pegship 21:37, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Color change edit

It is pretty easy. Just go to "my preferences", click on "skin" and have fun. There are not many options, but you will be perhaps able to find what you like. Well, maybe not. After reviewing all of them, I decided to stick with the default style:-) If you have already tried this, I do not know any other way. Tankred 22:02, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please stop removing replaceable fair use tags edit

Despite what Irpen tells you, you can't simply remove RFU tags if you disagree with them. That's what the disputed tag is for. It is considered vandalism. Please stop. —Chowbok 21:54, 30 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Chowbok, accusing users in vandalism qualifies as a personal attack. Now, you have been repeatedly requested (see your talk) to explain at talk pages what exactly you dispute in each particular case wrt specifically related to each particular article. Without explanation, your tag is invalid and may be removed (and will be removed) by any user. I gave you some time to provide such explanations. Your not doing it reflects good faith. --Irpen 22:00, 30 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I've never deleted a single image; I'm not an admin, so I don't have that power. Every image that's been deleted was deleted by an admin that agreed with me that it was replaceable. —Chowbok 22:02, 30 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
You are not accused in image deletion. You are accused of lack of good faith in tagging as you do not explain how the image is non-compliant as well as in stalking slected editors. More at your talk.
Also, there is no Policy that states that the tag cannot be removed if it is reasonably believed to be placed not in good faith or such that its placement is meaningless. The instructions provided on the tag were not achieved through any concensus or supported by any policy. They are arbiotrary written which was followed by protection of the tag to prevent its improvement. --Irpen 22:06, 30 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Irpen, first of all, don't change my headers on somebody else's talk page. Second, if you don't know what I'm talking about, don't reply. Blofeld said on my talk page that I had deleted images, and I was responding to that. Third, don't change the indentation so it looks like I'm replying to you when I wasn't. Fourth, as you say every single time somebody accuses you of bad faith, it's not necessary in the presence of evidence to the contrary. You also say all the time that you're criticizing actions, not people; I am as well. Your actions are vandalism and the next time you do it you will be blocked. Don't encourage Blofeld to follow your example. —Chowbok 22:56, 30 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Now you resort to threats and trolling. Fine, Chowbok. I will deal with your actions differently from now on. --Irpen 23:24, 30 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Seven Years in Tibet edit

Great, I've been hoping someone would work on that one. Are you going to create a separate article for the book? Her Pegship 22:23, 30 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
