Copyright violation in Economy of Tibet edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Economy of Tibet, by Nat Krause, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Economy of Tibet is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Economy of Tibet, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Economy of Tibet itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 04:00, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Return of the Aussie film template edit

Hey Blofeld. Thanks for your message. The List of Indian films is looking good. On {{CinemaofAustralia}}, the flag was too small to have any impact, and the weight of text in that template made it appropriate to change things up. Possibly for the countries that have bigger industries, like India, we could try something similar. The Indians would probably love it, though the Americans would probably hate and try to have it deleted. But most of the flags, if they have bold designs, are not a problem if they are small. I understand what you mean about standards, but the trouble with standards is that everyone and everything is different. Take care! — WiseKwai 13:44, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Western film characters edit

And the category is getting populated. I've just been watching TGTBATU. I'd like to get more Spaghetti Westerns. — WiseKwai 15:05, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have the Dollars trilogy, too. I like Leone's English title for Fistful of Dynamite, Duck, You Sucker!. I have yet to watch it. There's a bunch I want to see: Keoma, Bullet for the General. I have Django, and need to watch it more often. My favorite things about TGTBATU are the Morricone score (of course!) and Eli Wallach as Tuco. "Whoever double-crosses me and leaves me alive, he understands nothing about Tuco." Check this out. — WiseKwai 15:16, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh yes, I have Once Upon a Time as well. Need to watch it more. I've seen most of the early Eastwood westerns - you're right, High Plains Drifter is pretty disturbing. His character takes some pretty brutal turns. I like Westerns. I would recommend you see Tears of the Black Tiger. It just came out on DVD in the States, and that edition is the one to get - full and uncut. — WiseKwai 15:23, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thousands of Thai films were made in the 1960s and 1970s, and most have been lost. These included some Westerns. Most were pretty bad and not really notable, but even some important, notable films have been lost, due to carelessness and lack of resources. A few have survived and are slowly making their way to DVD. I will start articles on them as the information becomes available. — WiseKwai 15:56, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I proposed deletion of DRG Class 50 because it is identical to the German version. To have a page translated, please list it at Wikipedia:translation  Andreas  (T) 20:46, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

It is clear that you acted in good faith, however, it is Wikipedia policy not to copy pages from other languages, see WP:CSD#A2. You are welcome to translate the page yourself. If you want that somebody else translates the page, please list it at Wikipedia:Translation. This is the place where the articles to be translated are collected, so that editors who like to translate pages can find them. Please read the instruction on Wikipedia:Translation carefully to see how it works. Mit besten grüßen,  Andreas  (T) 20:54, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I am sorry if you feel offendet by my edits, this is not my intention. The reason why I put the tag for immediate deletion is given in the guidelines Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion:

Foreign language articles that exist on another Wikimedia project. If the article in question does not exist on another project, the template {{notenglish}} should be used instead. All articles in a non-English language that do not meet this criteria (and do not meet any other criteria for speedy deletion) should be listed at Pages Needing Translation (PNT) for review and possible translation.

See: WP:CSD#A2
I removed the tag from the PKP class Ok1 article because I saw that you have started translating. I also included the articles that I tagged into the WIkipedia:Translation page where they belong, so that others can find them and participate in the translation and proofreading process. I would suggest that instead of complaining to me, you add the tag {{hangon}} to the page so that it is not removed while you are translating it. If all of us assume good faith (which I do in your case) and try to follow the guidelines, it will be easier for us all to make a good encyclopedia. Film templates edit

The Thai film list template is fine. Adding the actor and director lists was a good idea.

The film icons I created are all 128 px. That's as big as I'm able to get them. Big enough?

On the deletion of the stock images, we're going to have to roll with the changes. It's a chance for someone to be creative and come up with a cool looking public domain photo or some kind of icon. I've been looking a bit for something like old film cameras or projectors, but so far I haven't come across anything I thought would be suitable. — WiseKwai 05:00, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yearheader template edit

Hope you don't mind me messing around with that. I like how you had it at a 8px height but that doesn't seem to work with coloured background. Any ideas how to get around with that? And another thing I was going to ask, would you mind if I change the icon for the filmmaker wikiproject talk page banners? The picture's too small to be able to make it out and I think the clipboard or one of the cartoon icons would work better, at least temporarily. But it's your baby, so I thought I'd run it by you first. Doctor Sunshine talk 20:55, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I see. Yeah, if you're going to be staring at it extensively I'll just let you keep the year header as you like it. That's too bad about the film reel. Did you try contacting the photographer through the stock xchng? If not I can give that a shot. The lists are looking good by the way. Doctor Sunshine talk 21:06, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Most definitely. I'm shocked and awed by the scale of your ambition. You're doing great. Doctor Sunshine talk 21:19, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Film titles: English or original? edit

Hi there. I see that you have been working on the list of Belgian films. I am not quite sure what the convention is for listing films from foreign countries: do people generally use the original title, or the English title of the film, when available? In the list of Belgian films, for example, some of the films listed include "The Son" and "The Child" (English titles) whereas others (Toto Le Héros) refer to the original title, even though there is an English title. I added a link to the 1947 film The Crab with the Golden Claws, for which a page exists. As you will see, I changed the title to the English title and left the original title included in brackets. Perhaps this is the way to go? Thoughts? Krikke 15:54, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I understand your logic and part of me agrees to stick to the original titles. However, someone (not from Belgium) who's looking at the list and comes across "C'est arrivé près de chez vous" would never know that this is the film internationally known as Man Bites Dog (which is how it's currently listed). For those films that came out internationally under a different name, I would like to include the international title in brackets, unless you have any objections? Anyhow, thanks a lot for all your work on this list. Krikke 21:45, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bulgarian Film List edit

I'm just writing to tell you, I'm going to remove Stefan Danailov's pic from the template. It makes the template too big and it messes up the lists. Silver default color for actor infobox edit

You could change all the #ed8 entries to silver. --PhantomS 11:20, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just edit the template at Template:Infobox actor. Every place that says #ed8 would be replaced with the word silver. --PhantomS 11:41, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Considering the history of the actor infobox, I wouldn't be surprised if it was reverted within a day. --PhantomS 11:52, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
It would be reverted by anyone who thinks that the actor infobox should be the color of awards. As for control of the template, you would think the wikiproject would have the most say about what happens to the template; however, consensus for changes to the template are made by Wikipedia as a whole. As for the height field, it was a former field that was removed because a lot of people were against it for reasons of verifiability and notability. Discussion about it can be found on the infobox's talk page and in the talk page archives. --PhantomS 12:02, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:SeaEmpress.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:SeaEmpress.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image:007CraigbecomingBond.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:007CraigbecomingBond.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 19:13, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

P.S. See the image's talk page for specific concerns about replaceability. – Quadell (talk) (random) 19:13, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
P.P.S. I replied on this image's talk page.
P.P.P.S. Image:1997haze2.jpg is also believed to be replaceable, since someone could create a new map with the same information.

Tibet infobox edit

Please stop re-introducing the infobox at Tibet without discussion. The accuracy, neutrality, and quality of the infobox and its contents have been disputed. Please discuss on the talk page before re-introducing the box. Thanks, PalaceGuard008 06:03, 12 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi there, thanks for reconsidering on the subject of the infobox. I'm not at all opposed to the idea of an infobox - like those on other disputed/occupied/secessionist territories. The thing is, though, Tibet's situation is more complex than, say, Western Sahara, which doesn't have any boundary issues and where there are just (really) two parties involved. My main concerns were about the map and the symbols of state. Thanks, PalaceGuard008 06:25, 12 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Polish opera edit

Thanks. I haven't finished work on it yet. I translated and adapted most of it from the Polish equivalent article (bearing in mind the criticisms made of it at its FA candidacy and removing some of the more controversial bits until they can be sourced properly). We do need more articles on Central European opera and the area should be expanded in the near future. The red links in the Polish opera article are a good indication of the gaps we need to fill. I plan to do a page on Jan Stefani, for one. I'd already noticed your Halka - nice work. Thanks again. --Folantin 12:47, 12 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thai film list edit

Over at the {{Thaifilmlist}}, I ran into a problem with the box being too long and it was running into the year heading for the 1920s films. So I changed the map image to one that was horizontal. I think the svg locator-map renderings are more appropriate. They have been made for every country, are a standard size and easier to discern than the satellite images. It's something to consider -- not that I'm trying to add to your workload. I was just having a problem with the Thai film list, and that's the solution I came up with. I hope you understand. However, these locator maps might also prove to be workable for the regional cinema templates that contain the soon-to-be-deleted film reel image, if only just temporarily until a more "filmy" image is located.

Oh, thanks for adding the Tony Jaa photo to Cinema of Thailand. It was one I took a couple of years ago, and is out of focus. I've never liked it that much, but uploaded it out of desperation when I had nothing else. I moved it lower on the page and added a caption. My favorite photo so far is the one of the Siam Theater marquee when it was playing The Tin Mine, and the marquee was Thai characters. That, to me, is the cinema of Thailand, literally. I try to take my camera to press preview events when I get the chance. The free-use photos have so much more flexibility than the gol-durned fair-use images, which are becoming increasingly problematic and restrictive. I fear that in the near future, most, if not all, fair-use images will be banned from English Wikipedia.

Well, enough from me. I should sleep, or maybe knock out some film icons. — WiseKwai 20:04, 13 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:BillyKennedy.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:BillyKennedy.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:25, 14 June 2007 (UTC). Notability of C-Skins edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on C-Skins, by Davewild, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because C-Skins seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting C-Skins, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate C-Skins itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 17:18, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

tienes razón, sorry about my critics.

I want to work with the cinema of my country, but, Italy is a preference to me, and there's a lot of work with Italy yet. When all in Italy will be blue and not red, I'll go with España. You're wrong about if there are a lot of A Spanish films from the 40's, 50's, 60's. No, under Franco, we did rubbish films. Trust me. Except auteurs, 90% of cinema before 70's is horrible. Somebody has worked with Vicente Aranda may be himself. The articles about his films are long and good. Lol.

Sorry if I'm a "cagaprisas", but I am. I did not pretend to criticarle a usted. Tan sólo me interesé por la discriminación que sufren unas nacionalidades y otras no.

Marisa Allasio did 2 wonderful films with Dino Risi, oh, they're wonderful Pink Neorealism comedies. I want to create more film, BUT with my macbook, it's so small, that I'll become blind if I follow working with mac... Pattience ! Yes, I have to do the Risi's films, the Rossellini's, that beautiful Ophüls film from the 30's. There're so many gorgeous films to be includded. I did correct War and Peace in Allasio's filmography 'cause there was a wikipedia page about that Vidor'r masperpiece. Lovely film. I recommend. Rohmerin 11:13, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've not seen in my life Amici per la pelle (yet) but Loren did not act on that film. I own a copy of Great Italian Films, an American book, and I'm reading now the amici's entry. No Loren... On the list of I.F of the 50's. I put that film with its USA title following the book as source, but may be it's better the way you did with its Italian title. Rohmerin 11:20, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I did edit the two films. You did the same. Lol. Very funny the Camerini's comedy. It's based on a very famous classic Spanish play.

Fair use rationale for Image:Paycheck affleck.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Paycheck affleck.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ilse@ 22:16, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:BorisKarloff.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

German municipalities edit

Hi Stavro, thanks for joining me in creating articles for German municipalities. I know about the easy way to copy infoboxes from German wikipedia, but for me that's not first priority now. Even if it only takes 10 seconds per municipality (which is a lot faster than my max. speed), that's hours of work. But you're welcome to do it. See also Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Germany#German municipalities. A point of attention: not all blue links in the navigation bars (as on Wikipedia:WikiProject Germany/Cities/Rhineland-Palatinate etc.) link to the correct town, see for instance Hausen and Neustadt in the Neuwied template (Neustadt (Wied) exists). I will check them all, and correct the navbar templates and district articles anyway. Markussep Talk 14:18, 18 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just saw this after I went through that template to place the project banners on the various places. I corrected a few and left one as redlink needing an article. Agathoclea 18:13, 18 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Working on the district article as we speak... This cooperation really works, you creating most of the articles and me doing the templates and the district articles and mopping up the (few) misses. Next up Bitburg-Prüm (235 municipalities!!!)? Markussep Talk 14:11, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I told you it's not my first priority to add the infoboxes. They are nice (I added many to the larger towns), but for me they're not essential. BTW if you want to do it right, it takes a lot more time. You should check whether for instance the coat of arms images (and other pictures) are available in commons (for many smaller places, it's only in German wikipedia, which gives a red link in the infobox). Something else that often goes wrong in infoboxes: the automatic metric-imperial conversion of the elevation, which gives a syntax error if the dash is not a minus sign. Markussep Talk 11:57, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Rhineland-Palatinate definitely needs a local government reform ;-) Somehow it feels more rewarding to create an article about a place with 4000 inhabitants than one with 40. I'll probably continue on R-P when I'm done with Lower Saxony, in a week or two (taking a short wikibreak next week). Markussep Talk 21:12, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re:Article, Featured Article edit

He doesn't look at "oppose" "support", as much as he looks at what is being opposed. I had a guy come in an tell me that he opposed Aquaman (TV program) simply because it didn't have references in the lead paragraph. Raul (Mr. FA) told him that his oppose as invalid as it isn't necessary. I had another guy opposing because I nominated an article I worked on. It's about that the subject of the oppose is. Also, with recent discussions on themes and cinematic style, CR may be a film that is expected to have something written about it in that manner. Also, you're always going to draw a lot of heat with that "Gadgets and cars" section, which was a big issue brought up with Goldeneye in its FAC (which is still on going, just like Royale). Tibetology Gallery edit

The gallery at Tibet was blanked. I've reverted it. It seems to be an act of vandalism. The user is making a lot of changes to bring Wikipedia in line with current CCP usage all over the place, and I'd like to suggest that a neutral admin take a look at him. Alexwoods 20:44, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I certainly don't see anything wrong with the gallery (great pictures, by the way) and it's pretty clear - if you look at his contribs - that the user did it out of hostility to Tibet rather than as a point of policy. I think we need to bring this to the attention of an admin. Alexwoods 20:55, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ernst! Thank you so very much for the award - it has really cheered me up (and, as you know, I have been feeling pretty low recently)! I just love the glorious photo of His Holiness - how wonderful to have it showing on my site! Every time I look at it I eel better. I am, indeed, very honoured!

Now, I tried to email you at the address you gave but the letter keeps bouncing - even though I tried slight changes to the email address (like changing ".co.uk" to ".com.uk"). I know you say you don't use email very much - but it would be the easiest way to send you some articles that you might be interested in and there are some things I would like to discuss with you - so, if you could send me an email (maybe from a friend's machine) to: wynhill@bigpond.com, I will reply back to you as soon as I receive it. If you can't do this for some reason - please send me a postal address.

Oh, by the way, I removed the personal information from the award box on my Talk Page - I hope you don't mind.

Thanks so much once again for your kind thoughts and the wonderful award! Hopefully, once I get this book of mine off to the publishers I will have more time to work on articles relating to Tibet. all my very best wishes, John Hill 23:29, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, reviewing it, I think your work on Randall and Hopkirk is excellent, keep it up! :) I never know how people are going to respond to it. Yesterday I came across a grumpy editor who decided to revert war over it, call me a troll and vandal and now he's blocked for a month :( Your right too, the excessive non-free images problem does need to be taken more professionally, and I'm glad you think that way too. :) — Moe ε 15:17, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Lol, someone complained because I told them about the Images I tagged[6]. I didn't know what to do at that point :P Yeah, I hate it when Images that I uploaded were deleted and I never knew about it. Several of mine I uploaded did, and were re-uploaded by other editors and I never knew the difference until I checked the actual image description page. — Moe ε 15:29, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

A Fistful of Dollars edit

Hi Ernst. I just wanted to let you know that the picture that you restored to this page is actually from For a Few Dollars More. When an anonymous IP pointed this out on the talk page I rewatched both films and this is the set where Indio and his men hole up in as Monco and Mortimer track them down towards the end of the film. You can tell by all of the white adobe buildings in the background. Fistful's town is much browner and there is more wood involved. The reason I didn't move it to the page for the second film is that page already had a picture of Gian on it. I will let you decide what to do about it but I don't think that it should be on Fistful's page if its not from that film. The work proceeds on the Brit film list and I am into the J's meaning I only have eight letters to go. After that I will double check all of the subcategories. This is quite a fun project and wandering through all the films has brought back many memories of the ones I've seen and taught me things about the ones I haven't. I also learned how to report a 'Conflict of Interest' when I came across a film that a small film club had produced and created a page for. I really appreciate your bringing me in on this project so thanks again and I'll chat with you when I get towards the finishing point of my entries on the list. MarnetteD | Talk 15:32, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

99.5% sure. The other telltale sign is that the roofs of the buildings are flat the town in Fistful has more slanted ones. Now it was a couple of weeks ago that I rewatched them so I can't be 100% accurate to what point of the film it occurs so if you need me to I can just fast forward until I find the spot that this pic is from and give you an accurate time to look for it so just let me know if you need this done. It's almost 10 am my time and I have to go run some errands so I may not get to it until you are asleep but I'll leave a message for you in any case. Cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 15:49, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Here is the scoop. The image is one of four or five possible moments between the two hour two minute and two hour three minute points in the film. Mortimer has just shouted out his real name and Indio has managed to shoot Mortimer's gun out of his hands and he tells him that when the music stops then they will go for it. You were right about Gian's looks. In Fistful he has a mustache and sideburns and in For a he has a full beard. Now here is the kicker, after watching both films (a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon I might add) I went into the page for the picture. Well of course you get the full size version of it and guess what? You can see the full beard on his face AND he is holding one of the two pocketwatches that play the musicbox tune which is so central to the story! I will post a note on the page for the picture that it is mislabeled in the hopes that it will stop other editors from placing it on Fistful's page. If there is anything else to do like moving the page so the title is correct (I don't know if you can do that to images) I will leave that up to your discretion. talk to ya soon. MarnetteD | Talk 22:47, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes HPD is one of my favorites of Clint's early films as a director. Some of it's supporting actors are as excellent as the Italian actors that you made me aware of in some of your past posts on my talk page. In particular I like Stefan Gierasch and the ever interesting Geoffrey Lewis. I hope that you enjoy your Sunday. MarnetteD | Talk 23:08, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes I think that they look great too and thanks again for asking me to be part of working on them :) MarnetteD | Talk 23:26, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Possibly unfree Image:LaiMan-Wai.jpg edit

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:LaiMan-Wai.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 15:51, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Asking me to use an unspecified sense in copyright matters isn't very helpful. I was unaware of the stipulations of {{PD-China}}, and having been corrected I find that they fit quite appropriately.

However, {{pd-old}} categorized the image as "Author died more than 100 years ago public domain images". Having been released in 1913, the author could not be dead in 1907 (100 years before upload). Therefore, I called the licensing of the image into question as it didn't match the sourcing. Further, your statement of "any image from 1913 doesn not have a problem with copywright" is fantastically broad and overarching, and specifically untrue. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 16:06, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:DeeBarton.jpg edit

DVD cover fair use template edit

Hello. I noticed that you have created a new template at {{Filmrationale}}. I've also been working on a new "fair use" rationale template exclusively for DVD covers. Please see User:Satori Son/DVD cover fair use. It would obviously need some formatting to take it from a talk page draft to a true working template, but any suggestions or criticism you have concerning the text would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Satori Son 14:44, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

More film icons edit

I tried an experimental icon for the regional boxes, like Southeast Asian cinema. You can see what one looks like on User:Wisekwai/Sandbox. I'm not sure about it. Frankly, I think it looks like ass. SE Asia is the only one I've tried so far. Other regions might not look so hot. I'm about at my limit with handy-dandy graphics know-how. I don't know how much more I can do. Something like Image:Video-x-generic.svg might have to suffice until a real graphic artist commits to the project, or a suitable free image can be found to replace the soon to be disappeared film reel.

Copyrighted images are under assault on Wikipedia. Pretty soon, all country cinema articles are going to be stripped of unfree images. Next, the cabal will make the move on film posters and album covers. Just watch. There will be nothing anyone can do to stop it. They'll move so fast it will make your head swim.

On that note, I have to let you know, I'm about to go on another Wikibreak and my time is going to get more limited as it draws near. Take care! — WiseKwai 20:25, 27 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Commercial use of Image:Madhvacharya.jpg edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Madhvacharya.jpg, by Venu62 (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Madhvacharya.jpg is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Madhvacharya.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 06:21, 28 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:RichardBurton4.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:RichardBurton4.jpg.

Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 02:16, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:FSanchez.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:FSanchez.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:16, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
